I’ve wanted to be involved with broadcasting in one way or another for my whole life, since I was young I remember asking my mom for a camera to record the things that happened around me, at the time our situation didn’t allow us to get me a camera but that didn’t stop me and my cousins to play and pretend we were recording a Mexican “telenovela”.
I remember the first time I considered broadcasting as my career path, one of my neighbors worked as a news producer for a big TV station down in Mexico and she offered to take me for a tour since I had an interest in the whole TV making deal. I recall that day as one of the best days of my life, I got to tour the studios and see how the newscast was recorded, that day I fell in love with the production process and the bright buttons of the switchboard, ever since then I’ve been working hard to get an education that would allow me to get the job of my dreams.
Knowing what I wanted to do “when I grew up” when I was so young surprised most of the adults around me, but ever since then everything I do and read has to do with broadcasting in one way or another, to me there isn’t anything more satisfying than finishing a show, no matter how stressful it can get, at the end I always have a smile on my face because there would not be anything else that I would like to be doing.
Studying in school has also reinforced my love for broadcasting, all the opportunities we have to work with the equipment are amazing and have made me a better person and a better professional, working on different shows and with different types of people has made me realize that everyone has a good side and are great at something. This opportunities will help me once I am in the “real world” because I’ll know how to deal with some of the more stressful situations with calm and poise, I’ll feel secure enough on the skills I’ve obtained from my education.

...is persistence. Become an expert at relating well with others. Remember: When you maximize your potential, everyone wins. When you don't, we all lose. We have the sequence to success in life all wrong. Let me see if I can explain. You see, we don't achieve success, because we are afraid of taking risks. We are afraid of taking risks because we are afraid of failure. We are afraid of failure because we are afraid of what people might think. We are afraid of what people might think because we lack self-confidence. All this leads to more low self-esteem and further erodes our chances of success. So...No success = Fear of taking risks-caused by-Fear of failure-caused by-Fear of rejection -caused by lack of self-confidence. The Success formula is actually reversed. Its more like this....You have extreme self-confidence so you're not afraid of what people might think. This makes you not afraid of failing. Since you're not afraid of failing, then you're also not afraid of taking risks. This ultimately leads to success in any mission you undertake. This also boosts your self-esteem further. Heres the Formula= High Self-esteem-leads to-Not being afraid of what others think-this leads to-Not being afraid of failure-which leads to-Not being afraid of taking risks, ultimately leading to SUCCESS! "Its alright to be afraid. Fear is not absent in the lives of successful people, they have learned how to step forward in spite of it" says Peggy Mcoll . When you feel fear,...

Success

...freedom. For some, it includes a boat, a RV, and a cottage by the lake. However, another definition of success doesn’t list any of these. Success does not have anything to do with material goods but is rather tied to broader concepts. One measure of success is how happy a person is. For some people, they might feel their happiest when they have luxurious items. However, this is not universally true and is consequently not a true measure of success. Happiness for most people is a happy and loving family. If this is someone’s definition of success, then their family is what defines their success. For some, this success might mean trying new things and a lifestyle that supports it. Success is tied in with happiness because they are both highly subjective. Health can also be considered a defining factor in success. People feel unsuccessful if they, or someone they love, are not healthy. For instance, can father feel successful if his child is ill? This is why doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and hospitals are so important. Not only do they allow people to live longer, but they also allow people to feel successful in their life. Finally, success can mean overcoming hardships. No one likes hard and rough times with tears and pain. Someone who has come through the pain often feels like he or she has accomplished something. An individual that has overcome an obstacle achieves a measure of success. As David Brinkley has stated, a man can be proud if he has laid “a firm foundation with the bricks...

Success

...Definition of Success A mansion, a sports car, and financial freedom are all very alluring signs of success to some. To others, success includes materialistic things such as a yacht, a camper, and a cottage tucked away by the lake. According to a study conducted by World Health Organization, 15% of people in high-income nations report being depressed, while only 11% in lower-income countries report being depressed (Bromet). Looking at these statistics, one can assume that the correlation of wealth and depression are positively related. It is clear, as shown by the previously stated statistics, that money does not always lead to happiness. To others, success may also be defined as “the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame” (“Success”). However, the true definition of success does not include any of these things listed above. Success does not include material goods but it is rather tied to expansive, more meaningful perceptions such as happiness, persistence, and overcoming hardships. One way to measure success is by how happy a person is. For some people, they might feel their happiest when they have lavish items. However, this is not true for everyone and is not a correct scale of success. Happiness for most people is a joyful and affectionate family. If this is what success means to someone, then one’s family is what outlines one’s success. Dr. Dennis Kimbro, author of multiple best sellers, interviewed many successful people about their definition of success. One woman...

Success

...Webster’s Dictionary, SUCCESS is the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame. For some, success is just merely being able to land a high-paying job, to live in a big house, owning all the latest cars and could even be just learning how to tie their shoe laces. Success could mean anything to anyone. Your definition of success could be very different to other people. In fact, your definition of success could be an epitome of failure to someone. It may also be possible that your definition of success is unreachable and a fantasy to others. So, what really is the definition of success? For me, true success requires appreciation and contentment – both of which are traits that are genuinely difficult to attain. People nowadays are working so hard in order to get more than what they have and more than what other people have. They treat life as a competition and I think that, if that would be the mindset of everyone, then we won’t really achieve success, just people pushing past each other and treating everyone as a rival. If everyone would just slow down, stop running, appreciate what they have and be contented with it, then even the slightest achievement would mean great success. Now, you might say “Whoa! being successful is too much work.” Yes, being successful is not easy, it does not happen overnight and hardly anyone in this world is truly, and genuinely successful but, success is a decent goal to strive for. Just remember, Success does not come from what...

Success

...Success Paper What does the word “success” actually mean? With all of the tasks that are put in front of you in life, it is important to have an understanding of the word. Success can be described in many different ways because everybody has their own opinion when it comes to saying what it truly is. But success is a choice, not something that just happens. The key to success is setting a specific goal, trying hard, not being lazy, and having the desire to succeed. To me, success means to be happy and satisfied with what you have accomplished. In order to succeed, you will fail many times. It does not come to you as easily as you would think. You can accomplish whatever comes at you with ease. But if you are not satisfied with your work, then you have not succeeded and if you have not succeeded, then you have failed. Failing is the part of success that no person ever wants to come across, but “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Succeeding takes time, you have to be patient. Some goals to help you achieve success are putting in hard work and being prepared. If you are trying to succeed, you have to give it your all. You cannot just put in half your effort, and expect a full effort reward in return. Hard work is everything when it comes to succeeding. It may not come right away, but I can guarantee you, if you put hard work into everything, you will succeed. Also, if you are a big procrastinator, that has to stop. Procrastination is a big part of failure, or not being satisfied...

Success

...To have a future after high school one must learn to be successful. When discussing success, there are three major points. First is learning from your failures, second is grit, and third is courage. So we've all probably seen those motivational commercials, where they wake up at five a.m., lace up there nikes, go for an eight million mile run, and by the time they get back to their house they are already leaving for the gym. While you're feeling pretty bad about the giant bag of chips in your lap, and you are probably thinking about turning the tv off. Yeah, we've all been there. But this one time I was watching a show and one of these nike commercials came on. Just before I changed the channel, Michael Jordan started to ramble on about failure and success. He said, “Ive failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” At first I was like “ okay that makes no sense at all” so I turned off the tv and went about my day, and then later on I was thinking about what he said and it just occurred to me, “ The only reason anyone succeeds at anything is because they have tried it before and most likely failed. So I did a little more research on what makes someone become a successful person. I found that grit was one of the key points you need to succeed in anything. As I was watching a TED Talk, Angela Lee was talking a lot about grit and how you need a lot of it. Just like me I'm sure you were all wondering what this meant. She explained grit as a, “ … passion...

Secret to Success

...Secret to Success Personally I have never felt that there are any secrets to success. Have you ever heard of any successful man who didn’t tell you about it? In my opinion, I believe that every success is lead by hard work and the ability to stay undeterred despite slight failures. Such attitudes are the reason why I succeeded too, in a way… Besides the achiever himself, there are always other personalities who guide him to success. These people are equally important as self capability. I had such people to guide me too. Those would include my parents, my teachers. (I do owe them a lot. Simply put, my achievement is a result of their hard work to put me on the right path, towards academic achievement rather than my own.) Without them, there wouldn’t have been anything worth a praise printed onto my results slip and I wouldn’t be writing this at the moment. Apart from the adults who played vital roles in my life. My peers also share a part in helping me to achieve what I did. They were constantly supportive and they were always there when I was distracted by failure, to motivate me and to keep me pumped-up to face the worst. Such were the secrets behind my success but honestly, do you really believe there are secrets to success? Well, think again. My wishes to the future achievers and hopefully your results are better than mine. P.S. If there ever is a shortcut to success, please inform me...

Goals to Success

...Philosophy of Success With every success story there will always be struggles and obstacles to get to the place we call “success”. Becoming successful is hard work and does not happen overnight. In order to achieve success you must always have a strict plan and goal to achieve your goals. Everyone has their own strategy to achieve success and I am no different. I am very methodical when it comes to figuring things out, I must always have a plan, especially when it comes to something important to me. First I start by making a lists of steps to concur my goal, what I like to call my achievement list, second I Organize my list into a visual representation, and lastly I work on myself and mold myself into a better person mentally and physically to not only achieve my goal of success, but to preserve and maintain it, so I do not lose what I tried so hard to get. With these three main success strategies I not only will reach my goals but I will do it with flying colors. When tackling a big goal or something I want to succeed in, what I first do, is think it out and create a very detailed and strong step by step plan to affectively obtain it. When I first got hired working at BJ’s I wanted to start as waiter right off the bat, but being brand new to the restaurant business I had no experience so I had to start at the lowest level position, Busser. Now knowing what I wanted and what to expect to get to that point is what I needed to know so, I devised my “Achievement List”. This list...

Defining Success

...Defining Success Success is many things to many people. Worldbook defines success as a favorable result or wished for ending through the achievement of goals. That is, if one attains a desired goal through achievement, he would be considered a success. However, a successful character, cannot be produced from one successful feat. The true indicator of success is not what is accomplished, but what is felt. In order to be successful, one must be happy. For example, if a person looks back on his career and feels satisfied and happy with his status, he would be considered a success. However, if he looks back and realizes he could've attained much more and feels disappointed, he would not be successful. Success is directly proportionate to happiness. Without it, there cannot be success. Success can also be reached by achievement of goals. In order to accomplish a goal, one must accomplish smaller goals that lead up to the main achievement. For instance, if a football team achieved its aim to win their district and the state championship, they would be successful. On the other hand, if the team set out to have a winning record, and failed, the season would not be considered successful. Success, no matter how big or small the goals are, can only be grasped through the attaining of those goals. Success must also be sought after. For anyone to have success, they must fight and strive for it. If a secretary of a large corporation worked her way up the ladder through hard work...

Secrets to Success

...Secrets to success It has been argued in different avenues that the meaning of success is relative. To some it means being rich, having a happy family, having a well paying job, owning a blue-chip company (The list is endless). The best meaning of Success that I have come across is that "Success is the completion of anything intended." In other words success is finishing what you planned to do. From this, success doesn’t necessarily mean being number one; it means achieving your target within the intended timeframe. The difference between those who succeed in life and those who fail are neither the number of shipwrecks nor the severity of the storms. The difference is in their persistence. It takes persistence to complete the journey. Success is a process. It is an incessant refinement of strategy until something finally works. Success starts with goal setting, and then goal setting is followed by action. Neither your goal setting theory nor your actions have to be perfect. A key to success is to start anywhere; over time, your vision will clear and your actions improve. Some say that success in any profession is due to luck, chance and hard work. There is nothing further from the truth. Many people work incredibly hard and put in long hours, but they are not successful. Hard work certainly contributes to success, but hard work alone will not make you a "top dog" in your trade or profession. So, what is the secret of success? Is it due to luck or chance? Is it due...

Story of Success

...Someone once told me "I know you'll be successful." But what is success? I think the definition of success cannot be pinned down to one single thing. Aspects of life must intermingle and converge, resulting in a fusion of moments and a synthesis of ideas. Because one man's idea of a successful and fruitful life may not be the same as another man's hope for a brighter future. How one defines success is therefore integral to that person's experience of life in and around him. As we are creatures of habit, we can proceed through life with preconceived notions of what is and what should be, convinced that what has worked in the past must also work in the future. In that way we deny ourselves the virtue of malleability. We are often our own worst enemies. The Chinese philosopher and military tactician Sun Tzu likened the successful soldier to water. "Water shapes its course according to the nature of the ground over which it flows; the soldier works out his victory in relation to the foe whom he is facing." The brilliance of this idea is not in the likening of life to war, rather in revealing the simple truth that we are a product of our experiences and how we adapt determines our success, along with what path we take. Each hill and valley we encounter provides us with an opportunity to adapt and change, gives us the chance to use our talents within the realms of our potential to evolve our life in new and sometimes unexpected ways. God's plan may be unknown and unfathomable...

The Recipe for Success

...The Recipe for Success Amy Dwigans Grand Canyon University Family Centered Health Promotion NRS - 429V Marti Schagel September 8, 2013 The Recipe for Success Throughout the educational journey, students all over the world have strived to perfect the art of studying in order to achieve an optimal level of knowledge. Just as taste in clothing differs between people, each has their own preference in different learning styles and techniques. Learning styles group common ways that people learn. Wikipedia defines learning styles as an individual's natural or habitual pattern of acquiring and processing information in learning situations. A core concept is that individuals differ in how they learn. The idea of individualized learning styles originated in the 1970s, and has greatly influenced education ("Definition," 2013). Everyone has a mix of learning styles. Some people may find that they have a dominant style of learning, with far less use of the other styles. Others may find that they use different styles in different circumstances depending on the distinct behaviors of study that appeal to his/her own specific learning needs. There is no right or wrong definition or tactic. Nor is your practice unamendable. You can cultivate a better practice in a less dominant style, as well as further develop styles that you already use well. By recognizing and understanding your own learning styles, you can use techniques better suited to you. Thus improving the speed and...

College Success

...Personal responsibility and college success are one in the same. According to Merriam and Webster, responsibility is the quality or state of being morally, legally or mentally accountable. To be a successful college student, one must be responsible and held accountable for one’s thoughts, words and actions. Self-advocacy is an individual’s ability to convey effective skills of communication relating to one’s own interests. This entails making sound decisions, taking responsibility for those decisions and knowing your strengths and weaknesses. Self-advocacy is an individual’s ability to convey effective skills of communication relating to one’s own interests. The communicator needs to be an effective listener as well. Not just do all of the talking. Allow whomever is talking to present their views and decide what you would like to take from what they are saying and make it pertain to you. Self-advocacy is also speaking up for yourself and learning how to assert yourself effectively. It’s making decisions that pertain to you and your life. It’s also finding out who will support you on your journey to success in college and future endeavors. Another important factor in being successful in college as well as in any endeavor and being responsible is knowing your strengths and weaknesses. Utilize your strengths to your advantage. Be direct yet tactful when relaying your strengths. It is always important to respect others. For example, if you are a leader, speak with conviction...

Paths to Success

...Paths to success There are different paths and many theories that are helpful to get success. This paper discusses different paths of success such as 10,000 hour rule, Tiger mom and Tim Ferriss. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of each success method. 10,000 Hour Rule: According to this rule, brain takes 10,000 hours to assimilate all that it needs to achieve true mastery. In views of Heshmat, (2011), the 10,000 hours rule translated into practicing 3 hours a day for 10 years, which is indeed a common training span for young people in sports. This rule suggested that success is the result of accumulative advantages. It is a function of persistence and willingness to work hard. It is because it is difficult to carry out any long-range plan and achievement of any difficult goal, unless people can make themselves persist at it. Advantage: The main advantage of 10,000 hour rule is that it leads to the perfection of people. It is because after spending 10,000 hours on a particular task, individuals build necessary skills and competencies that are necessary to do the job in a perfect way (Bell, 2010). Disadvantage: The main disadvantage of this theory is that it takes a long-term view of getting success. Concurrently, this rule also not describes the performance of a person, who spends less than 10,000 hours to a particular job (Martin, 2011). It also limits the growth of an individual, as he/she focus on a particular job for 10,000 hours...
