Reboot by Amy Tintera was an excellent book in my opinion. The plot of the story I especially liked as it was original and I had never seen a plot or storyline quite like this one. It was set in the future where the United States of America was in pieces. As I can’t remember what the United States was called I do remember that many states of America had become independent countries such as the original 13 Colonies which was then called “The Union” and Texas which was called “The Republic of Texas.” Many other major events in the future of America were hinted at in the book such as The Terrible War (over resources), The Sinking of the West Coast, Second American Civil War (which had a major part to play in the plot) and The Great Slaughter of…show more content… Until HARC. HARC or the Human Advancement and Repopulation Corporation was created to help turn things around for the Human Race as it started to become the governing entity over North America and was even planning to move outward to control other countries. HARC had no real enemies at the time and were pretty much considered helpful for the human race until the disease comes along. The disease killed almost anyone it touched, like the hand of death, but with one catch. They came back inhuman. The longer dead the more inhuman. Devoid of Humanitarian instincts and basically superhuman, they realized these would be the perfect soldiers to help fight against all who opposed HARC. And as HARC started using these “superhumans” more people started to dislike them. Wren Connolly, the most inhuman of all these soldiers was dead for 178 minutes, the longest anyone they had ever seen. And Calum who was dead for only 22 minutes was the most human.
