Summary of “Is College a Sucker Bet?”
On December 21, 2013, Dave Maney published a segment called “Is College a Sucker Bet?”. In the first part of his writing, he explains how he has two daughters that are seniors in high school that are trying to decipher their next step in life. Traditionally, in our American culture the next step would be college, but college is very expensive. Maney then explains how correlation is not causality. Most people assume that the higher the education you receive the higher the paycheck. He then shoots this claim down by using facts and statistics from his experience in the work force.
