In the reading "Hidden Intellectualism" Gerald Graff is basically saying that schools should be teaching literacy through their own interest. The way that allowed him to find interest for literacy was from reading sport related articles, magazines, and other forms of sports. This allowed him to think and write on a topic he felt he could relate and find a connection with literacy. I have a similar story that helped pull me towards literacy. In high school I was not the biggest fan of literature, until about my junior year. My junior year my American literature teacher that knew I had a writer inside of me. She encouraged me to always push myself and always knew their was literacy inside of me. That year is when I started to have a bit of passion
