Kris Kyle is a country boy from Texas who followed his dream of joining the military. Little did he know he would become the most lethal sniper in American History. Originally Kyle wanted to be in the special forces out of the Army but was heavily recruited by the Navy and soon found his place as a Navy Seal. Kyle developed a talent, and a calling, for the dangers of warfare and finding the right spot to kill an enemy with a single shot. Sniping is a skill that requires patience, nerve and a certain cold-bloodedness, all of which Kyle displayed day in and day out in the major battles of Iraq.
Kyle's view is direct and simple, he says exactly what he is thinking, no exaggeration and no understatement. Some of the views he has are debatable, his first person view represented the position of the ground soldiers who were the fighting these included the, Army, Marines and SEALs. Kyle's voice deserves to be heard not as a bystander but as the sound of anger from the battlefield and the hardships of resuming anything normal back at home where your not having to looking over your shoulder 24/7. The book shows how little noises and movements can trigger flashbacks of fighting, also known as PTSD. Also those little things can trick the brain into believing that they are back fighting for real and thats when the real danger occurs. Also the book shows what it's like to leaving your family behind to go fight for other families all over the world. In the book Kyle states that leaving his family to fight was part of his duty, but he comes back saying that it's never easy saying goodbye especially not knowing if your going to see them
