Summary Of Rhetorical Overview Of Darkness By Paul Bogard
Submitted By Words 271 Pages 2
Paul Bogard builds his argument to persuade his audience that natural darkness should be preserved using the rhetorical devices; ethos, pathos and logos.
He starts his argument off using pathos, giving the reader a glimpse into his childhood, one that a large number of people, especially those over 35 can relate to. He describes what he saw and how it was like for him growing up and living there.
Bograd then uses pathos to talk about the audience and their children. He poses the possibility that future generations might never be able to see a sky dark enough for the Milky Way.
Next, Bogard uses logos to show the audience how life on Earth is centered around darkness. He gives facts about how darkness is beneficial to not only us humans
