This book, Copper Sun, by Shon Draper, has caught my attention because this book talks about what slaves have to face when working and what they have to do to run away for their freedom. I feel bad for that Amari, in the beginning, saw that there were her own people was the newcomer, so she trusted them, but then the newcomer/ Slave traders start shooting which killed a lot of her tribe members. The conditions they had to sleep through such as staying overnight while waiting to be auctioned by the slave buyer were terrible. I also believe that it was nice for Amari to act as a mother for Tidbit (Slave), also known as Timothy. I think that it is unreasonable for Mrs. Derby (Slave Owner) who is a nice woman to have such as a terrible husband who is known as Mr. Derby (Slave Owner). I believe that Mrs. Derby is kind-hearted and polite because she helps the other slave and helps each of them out. I think that Mr. Derby is cruel because he makes his wife watch the death of two people. I feel now that Amari is hopeless to get his fiance, Besa (slave), back. My impression of Amari was hopeful because everything was taken from her, but she still has hope in herself. I determine that it was clever for Amari to believe that Fort Mose (a place that runaway slave and indentured servant can go and be safe) does exist. I feel bad for Amari whose owner is Noah is as strict as his dad (Mr. Derby). I felt sad for Amari because, on the voyage on the ship, she has to felt hunger, disease, and
