My book today is My Australian Story: Kokoda, written by Alan Tucker in march 2014. Alan Tucker was born in 1952, and is a previous winner of the CBC Book of the Year with the nonfiction award.
The plot for my book is that Archie McLeod, a 14-year-old boy and his mum Thelma move from Melbourne to Townsville after both of Archie’s brother’s Harold and Des sign up in the army. His eldest brother Harold starts off fighting in the Middle-East namely Syria with his second AIF battalion the 2/14th, while his second-oldest brother Des signs up to the 2/39th battalion which is a militia unit.
