Paul Getty Museum in California. He had in his possession, he said, a marble statue dating from the sixth century BC. There are only about two hundred kouroi in existence, and most have been recovered badly damaged or in fragments from grave sites or archeological digs. But this one was almost perfectly preserved. For students who have been exposed only to the traditional teaching methods, this calls for a major change in their approach to learning. We begin by taking a brief look at what case studies are, and how they are used in the classroom.
