The Thesis of Imprints on Native Lands is that the German Protestant Moravian Church had an impact on the settlement landscape of the Miskito People of Eastern Honduras Tillman argues that the growing number of protestant churches in Latin America is effecting certain areas like the Miskito People as much as the Catholics. Tillman asks three questions throughout the book: What is the distinctive Miskito settlement landscape, Which elements of the Miskito settlement landscape are products of Moravian missionary influence, and what were the primary factor in creating such landscapes. Through these three questions, Tillman provides evidence that the Moravian Church impacted the Miskito society through his research and experiences in Honduras.
