During the 1803 Louisiana Purchase people were angry, both inside and out of his political party. Many believed different things. some believed the president didn't have the constitutional right to make such a decision on his own.
Political companion in the Essex Junto plot was Vice President Aaron Burr in a plot for New England to separate from the Union.The Burr Conspiracy was to take land from Spain. Jefferson tried to have Burr guilty for betraying another country, but couldn't prove the indict.
