...ENCRYPTING FILE SYSTEM – XP/Vista Overview In October 2006, The Department of the Army issued a directive that all laptops, portable notebooks, tablet-PCs, external media, and similar systems; commonly referred to as mobile computing devices (MCD); are highly susceptible to theft and loss and will be protected using Data at Rest encryption software. Of the many solutions available, MS Windows has a limited no cost solution to meet this requirement. MS Windows XP/Vista has the ability to encrypt data, but before an individual can encrypt files, there are some preliminary concepts that the user should understand. - Windows encrypts files by creating an encryption certificate from your CAC the first time that a user encrypts a file or folder. The encryption certificate contains the user’s public and private keys and is kept in the computer’s certificate store. - The public key encrypts data and the private key decrypts data. - When a file or folder is encrypted, the name of encrypted file and folder appears green when viewed with Windows Explorer, but it does not appear green on the desktop (although it is encrypted). - Moving unencrypted files into an encrypted folder will automatically encrypt those files in the new folder. However, the reverse operation will not automatically decrypt files. Files must be explicitly decrypted. - Encrypting a folder or file does not protect against deletion or listing files or directories. Anyone with the appropriate permissions can delete or list...

...“Waiting for Superman”, is a film directed by Mr. Davis Guggenheim. Guggenheim makes this film appealing by use of pathos, logos and ethos. Furthermore, He gave ideas of the obstacles todays public schools education face. Mr. Guggenheim demonstrates this by having an interview with five public school students, along with their relatives or guardian. Throughout the course of the film, the interviewed students face certain challenges, and it can be seen in the film. The film can be appealing, because ethos, pathos and logos was used in this documentary. At first, Logos was portrayed in the film when Guggenheim tells us in the film that the nation’s capital scored extremely low in reading and math in the entire country. The logic would be the fact or saying that the system has failed the students. Another point to consider, is that the logical appeals he used was proof of how hard it was to fire a teacher in Illinois compared with other professions. The filmmaker found “1 in 59 doctors, 1 in 97 lawyers, and 1 in 2500 teachers are fired each year." It is easier for a doctor to be dismissed and a lawyer to be disbarred then for a teacher to be fired. As said by Guggenheim. Additionally, the children interviewed in the documentary seemed to be very sad and quite happy. Statistics show that the nation’s capital scored a very low percentage in subjects such as reading and math. On the other hand, Guggenheim believes that the teachers union is responsible for the school education...

...Problems Facing AriZona Tea One of the largest issues facing the industry is competition. With numerous brands of tea offering similar products with nearly the same benefits, it’s difficult for any one brand to stand out. In addition to the intense competition, ready-to-drink tea faces problems with availability. AriZona tea, specifically, is only sold in certain retail stores in the United States and only in a few countries outside of North America. Also, the lack of advertising has created problems for the company. Without advertising, it is harder for the brand to compete against Lipton, Snapple and Nestea, which produce national advertisements are a regular basis. Opportunities Facing AriZona Tea One of the greatest opportunities facing the brands in the ready-to-drink tea industry is the ability to expand their products. Companies can expand their brand by introducing new types of drinks, new flavors, new ingredients or they can expand a product and/or brand line. Another thing that is quickly gaining popularity in the world today is the promotion of positive health benefits through organic products. This is something that AriZona tea, as well as its competitors, have started promoting through their all-natural, gluten-free drinks Target Description This report will focus on all users of ready-to-drink tea who consumed AriZona tea within the past six months. Our specific target market is males and females ages 18-34 who are high school graduates...

...It’s Half-Time America “Yeah. It’s halftime, America and our second half is about to begin.” Those are the last words you hear before the screen fades to black in the 2012 Dodge Super Bowl commercial featuring Clint Eastwood. The meaning is more than an encouraging speech to persuade consumers to buy a Chrysler product. It is an outpouring of hope and encouragement for the future of our nation. Cleverly, through the use of pathos, logos, and ethos rhetorical devices this ad was built to pull all the right heart strings. On the other hand, Chevrolet’s Super Bowl commercial took a look at the future, the same as Chrysler’s, however the company chose a humorous, far-fetched manner in which to entice...

...Marketing Term Paper Old Spice: Smell Like a Man Campaign DHANANJAY ATREE da1972@nyu.edu EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Dhananjay Atree An advertisement can characterize a company – done well, it can provide a totally new identity for a failing company and restore it from its falling stock; done inadequately, and the campaign can perpetually connect an organization with something negative or absurd. Old Spice is a prime case of how an advertising campaign can change or make an organization. Unless you were living in a cave, you most likely saw at least one of the Old Spice commercials starring Isaiah Mustafa that started airing the day after the 2010 Super Bowl. Previous to the “Smell like a Man, Man” campaign, Old Spice was moderately...

...Magazines can be useful for a number of reasons; they can provide tips on cooking, decorating, and even communicating. But unfortunately, they can also leave people with the wrong impressions about how they should look or feel. Just as women believe that men want a woman who looks like a super model, men tend to believe that women prefer a man who exuberates masculinity, for example: a muscle ripped body. If females are searching for a male to settle down with, then will she choose a male with more brains or more brawn? If this hypothesis were to be tested, you would find that majority of the time a woman is going to select a male with brains over brawn, to settle down with. In an article about men’s health, males with high testosterone levels were 50 percent less likely to marry, and men with the least testosterone were more likely to get and stay married (Daniel Amen, 2012). The male hormone, testosterone, increases in males when they work out (Jeff S. Volek, 2007). Therefore, men who work out a lot to get those big muscles are going to have much higher testosterone levels. In studies where women were given the option between different mates, they choose the males that exuberated less testosterone when looking for a long-term relationship. The women that were looking for short-term relationships, where reproduction was not a possibility and/or factor for mate selection, those women chose men with higher testosterone levels (Coren L. Apicella, 2008). Works Cited Coren...

...skilled at giving ladies mixed messages too. Like when a guy acts like he’s into a lady, when really…he’s just not that into at all. Here are things ladies wish men wouldn’t do when they clearly have no intentions of making them their wives or girlfriends. 1. Do not be ambiguous about what she is to you. If you only like her as a friend, refer to her as your friend in front of her. 2. Do not pay for her meals. It’s a really sweet gesture. But if you don’t fancy her in a romantic way at all, then split the bill. Because after all, you’re just friends. Do you pay for all of your friends’ meals? No. 3. Do not ask a lady about the type of guy she likes. This will make her think you’re curious to know if you fit what she’s looking for in a man. Thus, making her think you are interested. 4. Do not talk to her all the time. Don’t call and/or text her every day. This makes it seem like you’re thinking about her all the time, which can be translated into something more. 5. Do not spend one-on-one time with her after a group hangout. This makes a lady think you want to extend your time spent together, which then makes her think you really, really like spending time with her. And that can make her think you have romantic feelings for her. Just go your separate ways after a group hang-out. 6. Do not hold her hand. Just don’t. Sure, friends hold hands but not all the time. You should only hold her hand if you are trying to make her your girl. 7. Do not bring her into your friend...

...Gender Roles How the media has affected the roles and perspectives of the different genders Amanda Luebbert 11 April 2016 Ms. Dudley Sociology People have gone through a lot trying to express themselves and who they feel they are. Having a relationship with someone of the same gender, or wanting to change the gender that a person was born as, was not looked upon with an accepting mind. The media has opened people’s minds to a whole new way of viewing people’s personal feelings and thoughts towards their gender and what gender people should have a relationship with. Media has been an way of inspiring those with different views on certain aspects of genders that many disagreed with. Many people were fully against gay marriage until the media stepped in a made people see it in a different way. Being a transgender was not the most popular thing, but media has made it more acceptable to those that were against it. People should have the right to be whatever gender they feel entitled to whether others think so or not. The media currently has several people that are into the art of makeup. Many of these artists happen to be men. Men are usually not viewed as wearing tons of makeup, but the perspective of these people are positive. People used to be a lot more judge-mental to anyone who wanted to do something that was generally done by the opposite sex. These guys that do fabulous makeup are not looked at as different they...

...I do not think there could be any better feeling. I am wrong. He comes closer; close enough I can hear him breathing in my ear. My mind is in a different world… I can’t hear the water anymore, I am now holding my breath, anticipating. And now, finally he whispers into my ear three magical words.” So, you must be thinking, how can a girl like me feel that? Its simple, I will give you the guideline on how to win your Prince, correct me if I am wrong gentlemen, so listen up Cinderella! Today I’ll be talking about the three factors that every woman should keep in mind when trying to win a guy, which is the external factor, the internal factor, and last but not least, her attitude. According to Crystal Mazzuca, its very easy to get any mans attention by the way you dress, especially since guys are visual. Therefore, dress to impress. Revealing clothes will get you attention, but will it get you the right kind of attention? A girl loves to feel that are all eyes are on her when she enters a room. That being said does not mean enter a room half naked. Stay composed. Be true to who you are. If you are uncomfortable showing all your skin that does not mean nobody will look at you. Flatter your body, subtly. Flaunt your features, just not all at once. There is no need to show every single shape on your body at the same time. Leave them wondering what...

Trust me. GOING OVERBOARD WITH GIFTS & ROMANCE Going overboard with gifts and romance is super needy. Being romantic and giving gifts is wonderful – don’t get me wrong. But (yes there is a but) in moderation. If you prepare a candlelight dinner for her every week it’s going to lose its specialness. Romance and gifts are great but don’t get her something every day. Save it for special occasions and surprises. Remember that a simple “you’re beautiful” is totally romantic and you can say that every day (but not every hour because it loses its specialness. Are you getting the gist of this?) ACTING LIKE A GIRL WITH PMS Are you overly emotional? Like a volcano: angry one minute, happy the next, sad a moment later? Is is because you are letting your emotions be controlled by your girlfriend? Needy men let their relationship dictate their mood. Even if everything is fine you might think she’s mad at you and overreact. Women are the ones who get pms and are emotional – we like it that way. We need a strong man to lean on when we’re having a bad day. If we’re taking care of you emotionally, it’s a problem. ...The Old Spice “Smell Like a Man, Man” Campaign In 2010 the “Smell like a Man, Man” campaign was born. Proctor & Gamble (Old Spice’s parent company) launched this brilliant campaign in the United States, to market their Red Zone After Hours body wash for men. The main objective of the campaign was starting a conversation between men and women about body wash. Essentially they wanted to get people talking about their brand and to generate enough interest to boost sales. In order to achieve this goal, P & G did their market research and realized that 60% of all body washes are purchased by women. In order to increase sales, Old Spice would first have to win over female shoppers. Old Spice then hired former football player, Isaiah Mustafa as the new face behind their brand. He was the perfect spokesperson- funny, manly, and oozing with sex appeal. With women being their target audience, he became “the man your man could smell like.” By using a clever combination of short television ads, word of mouth and social media platforms like YouTube, twitter and face book, the “Smell like a Man, Man” campaign became one of the fastest growing and most popular interactive campaigns in history. To really appreciate the success of this campaign, it is essential to have some background information about the brand. Old Spice is an American male grooming brand that has been in existence since 1934. Given the longevity of the brand, Old Spice tends to appeal to an older customer...

...when you are most successful. Success actually breeds complacency, inefficiency and - worst of all - arrogance. When people and businesses get really successful, they often fall in love with themselves. They stop innovating, working hard, taking risks and begin to rest on their laurels. They go on the defensive, spending their energy protecting their success rather than staying true to the very things that got them to the top. Whenever I share this point with a roomful of CEOs, every single one of them nods in agreement. Please let me give you a real world example from my own life. This past weekend, I took my kids to our favorite Italian restaurant. The food is incredible there. The best bresaola outside of Italy. Heavenly Pasta. Super foamy lattes that make me want to give up my job and become a barista. But the service at this place is bad. Bad, Bad, Bad ( like it is at most places ). why? Because this place is always full. And because they are doing so well, they have taken the lines out front for granted. And guess what? It's the beginning of their end. I love taking pictures. My dad taught me to record the journey of my life with photos. So I generally carry a little camcorder around with me. I asked our server if she would snap a picture of my children and me as we dug into our spaghetti. "I don't have time " was the curt reply. Unbelievable. Too busy to take five seconds to keep a customer happy. Too busy to help out a little. Too busy to show some humanity...
