At approximately 0125 on the morning of 8/22/2017 Shift Supervisor Riddle responded to a call for assistance from S/O Royce. Royce was sitting with a 3-81 in bed 8. Upon arrival Riddle passed the mother of the patient who seemed to be very agiatated at the amount of security that had arrived for Royce's call for assistance, seeming to think security were going to attack her son. Riddle approached bed 8 and learned that the patient had pulled his IV out of his arm. S/O Odom entered bed 8 and began to try and deescalate the patient who was very agiatated. At that time S/O Miller approached the mother of the patient and began talking with her. Riddle told her that was fine. Riddle approached Maggie the RN to try and discern what was going to happen next. Maggie told Riddle that the mother needed to leave and Maggie asked Riddle to escort her to the waiting room. Riddle returned and asked the mother of the patient very nicely to accompany him to the waiting room which the mother vehemently refused. Riddle did his best to explain the situation and it would be best if she waited in the waiting room. Once again the mother refused. Riddle returned to Maggie and explained the mother would not be moved without physical force. Maggie relented and said the mother could stay there so long as she did not approach. By this time police officers had arrived and entered bed 8. They began by calmly asking the patient to come with them to go to WBI. The patient refused to leave until certain requests of his were met. Police officers tried repeatedly to talk the patient into leaveing willignly but eventually he was placed in handcuffs and was walked out by force.
