In relation to supply chain management, the authors placed a huge emphasis on explaining the changes in supply chain management over time; more specifically its improvements. As identified in the reading, the cause for the improvements in supply chain management had everything to do with the inclusion of information technology systems in the interworking’s of the supply chain. For this reflection paper, the students and I were charged with reading the first four chapters of the text. These four chapters focused on the understanding of supply chain management, the use of information technology systems in supply chain management, managing the flow of materials within the supply chain, and managing the relationships within the supply chain.
