According to the Supreme Court case between Salinas vs Texas, two homicide victims were found by the Houston police officers in 1992. Upon investigation, the officers were led to Genovevo Salinas. The officers were accompanied willingly by Salinas to the police station and was questioned for about one hour. Since Salinas was not arrested at this point, his Miranda rights was not read to him. Yet, Salinas gave answers to every question that he was asked until an officer asked him whether the shotgun shells found at the crime scene would match the gun found in Salinas' home. Salinas remained silent according to the officer, and exhibited signs of deception. Salinas' gun was later matched with the casings at the scene by a ballistics analyst.
