Singapore airlines reported reduction in net fuel costs in 2015. They also stated that in current quarter, 2016, cost saving from lower fuel prices will be limited due to the fuel hedges already locked in, (AUSTRALIAN AVIATION, 2015) but they anticipated the average fuel price will progressively drop in final year 2016 as hedges at lower prices start to begin, (CAPA CENTRE FOR AVIATION, 2015). This will help Singapore airlines to improve its profit level.
They also expected to end fiscal 2016 with 106 aircraft and they already retrofitted their 11 of its 777-300ERs and whole fleet of 19 Airbus A380s with premium economy, in order to make its worldwide debut on august 9 on the Singapore – Sydney route (AUSTRALIAN AVIATION, 2015). They also carry forward the upgrading of the 777-300ER’s business and first class cabin into fiscal 2016.
