SWOT Analysis
The business plan I chose was the Take Five Sports Bar and Grill. At first glance this restaurant has a great track record thus far, and has potential for further growth. Looking at the initial summary, their flagship location is estimated to gross over $2 million in sales in its first year of operation, along with a net profit of $445,000.00.
According to this business plan, there are many strengths they have achieved. I would have to say that most impressive achievements they have accomplished are: 1) Have all five stores operational by the third year. 2) Growing each location to a $3 to $5 million annual sales level. 3) Keeping food cost under 32% of revenue. 4) Keeping beverage cost under 21% of revenue.
When you look at how successful a restaurant is you must first start at the quality of food that is being made and what kind of service you will receive. Being around the restaurant business most of my life, I live by the rule that it is your guest that makes you. Then you need to be able to enjoy your dining experience, it is important to make sure your guest wants to come back again and again.
In order for this restaurant to keep ahead of its competition, their guest experience focus is very important. They need to make sure that they highlight some important features. 1) Quality of food; fresh and high quality, with focus on each location. 2) Celebrity events; major media coverage when having special events or appearances. 3) Merchandising is very important as well. Being able to sell memorabilia will add additional profit.

Even if you think your business is strong and going in the right direction, there is always weak link somewhere. For this plan, though it seems that they are trying to cover a few major weaknesses. I
