In the story, “The Devil’s Arithmetic”, by Jane Yolen, she explains exactly how murderous the camps were in WWII. Leading to having almost no clothes, shoes or a single options of what any Jew wanted to do even if it there was a complete chance of you dying. While in the poem, “The Little Polish Boy Standing With His Arms Up”, by Peter .L Fischl, the novel clarifies that WWII was the very disappointing day that the little polish boy had died in the 1960’s with guns in his face.

In the book, “The Devil’s Arithmetic”, by Jane Yolen, she compassionately informs the reader about how the main character named Hannah is at a celibrasional party for passover and tastes wine for the first time to represent the gods, and discovers a completely different world that she thought was a dream and turn out Hannah’s family in the past as jews in a death camp, with her name in her dream changing to Chya. Hannah went from living in a rich city, going to school, to living in a bit of a poor area where girls aren't allowed to attend school with a random family and an unknown name. …show more content…
Fischl, he carelessly informed that he would rather have been the person to take all of the shots from the Nazi’s machine guns in WWII, instead of the boy. He repeatedly pronounces that he had made a vision in his head showing a painting of the boy and then build a ten million mile high statue of the boy, that would eventually blind the world to represent his death decision. Then in a total of 12 stanzas later he indicates 4 stanzas later that the statue will then be ten billion miles high, and another 4 stanzas later he explains how the polish boys statue will then after that measure up to 5 billion miles high.At the same time you easily detect the feeling of the author is shouting every single fact right at

Interpretation of Dreams

...scientific knowledge has not left The Interpretation of Dreams untouched. When I wrote this book in 1899 there was as yet no "sexual theory," and the analysis of the more complicated forms of the psychoneuroses was still in its infancy. The interpretation of dreams was intended as an expedient to facilitate the psychological analysis of the neuroses; but since then a profounder understanding of the neuroses has contributed towards the comprehension of the dream. The doctrine of dream-interpretation itself has evolved in a direction which was insufficiently emphasized in the first edition of this book. From my own experience, and the works of Stekel and other writers, [1] I have since learned to appreciate more accurately the significance of symbolism in dreams (or rather, in unconscious thought). In the course of years, a mass of data has accumulated which demands consideration. I have endeavored to deal with these innovations by interpolations in the text and footnotes. If these additions do not always quite adjust themselves to the framework of the treatise, or if the earlier text does not everywhere come up to the standard of our present knowledge, I must beg indulgence for this deficiency, since it is only the result and indication of the increasingly rapid advance of our science. I will even venture to predict the directions in which further editions of this book - should there...
