Boom! Boom! Bdddd! Do you hear that? All i hear is soldiers marching to a steady beat. The drummer boy of shiloh makes the beat that you hear. He marches the army into battle in April 6, 1862. “The Drummer Boy of Shiloh” a short story by Ray Bradbury. Ray emphasizes the importance of having courage to represent what you want to represent. For example Joby represents the heart of the army. Not just because he’s there. He represents the heart of the army because he is the one that leads them into battle. He makes them feel confident by the beat he plays whether it’s upbeat or downbeat.

...Ray Bradbury, an author well known for his fantastic works of science fiction, composed a narrative titled “The Drummer Boy of Shiloh.” Woven into the carefully chosen words are threads of symbolism, thus creating a metaphorical masterpiece. Everything from the setting, to the weapons of the army of Shiloh, can be inspected and taken apart. Each piece is a valuable bridgeable to connect the ideas released through out the story. So, what do these “threads” mean? What does the symbolism in the story “The Drummer Boy of Shiloh” represent?
