Wurundjeri is a one of many number systems used by the aboriginals. But, instead of writing numbers like us in the Hindu-Arabic system, they use symbols to represent their numbers. Instead of written symbols they use their arm to represent the digits. The meaning of these symbols used in the system are to do with the whole arm. Each number is representing certain part of the arm, e.g. the little finger represents the number one. It is similar to counting with your fingers, but instead of using both hands to count to ten, they use their whole arm to count. Here are all the symbols used in Wurundjeri for the numbers 1-10.
