Polydactyly, sometimes referred to as a congenital anomaly is a conditions where someone has more than five fingers or toes on each hand or foot. The disease is present at birth, and the digits can usually be removed soon after. Polydactyly affects about one in every seven-hundred babies, and surgery to remove them is fairly simple. They can vary in severity and can range from small skin tags to fully formed extra fingers. Polydactyly is the addition of another finger or toe, however it is very closely related and sometimes confused with Syndactyly.
