SYRIAN ARMY UNDERGOES IMPORTANT OPERATION

The Syrian army has launched an operation to secure a key road that is used for supplying foreign backed militants with weapons. The army has deployed it’s units along the road that goes from Damascus, the country’s capital, to Masnaa Border Crossing which is in Lebanon.
The area is quite rural and there are many places to hide, so in turn it has become a hot spot for militants to smuggle weapons into Syria. Many Syrians who are trying to escape the country’s civil war conflict have used these roads and border crossings but the Syrian army or the SAA are putting a stop to it. The reason for this is because there is many illegal smuggling in the area and an increased amount of FSA casualties seeking for medical attention in other countries.
Setting ambushes and a frequent changing of positions are among the tactics used by the Syrian army to prevent militants and arms smugglers from infiltrating into the country. Heavy weaponry is being used to help keep security in the area such as tanks and rocket-propelled grenades.
A few days ago on Sunday, Lebanese soldiers killed a member of al-Nusra Front and injured two others at a checkpoint in the border town of Arsal as the Takfiri militants attempted to cross into Lebanon from neighboring Syrian.
Syria has been through 2 years of civil war unrest and according to the Western powers and regional allies, especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey are supporting the militants operating inside Syria. Bad news for President Al Bashar but his forces are winning the civil war on the amount of ground and arms.
In a recent statement made by the UNs High Commissioner for Refugees said that the number of Syrian refugees who have fled the country’s 29 month long conflict has reached a massive number of two million.
It has also been rumored that some 4.2 million Syrians have been left homeless or displaced in their country since the beginning of the conflict.
