Talawanda High School is just like any other school, however it’s located in a college town along with a very rural parts. Our school is very diverse in a way that others are not. We have students whose parents are professors, along with students who don’t have the best home life and lack parental guidance. There’s a various amount of students with vast styles and opinions. In our school there are different cliques that stick together. I’ve noticed that the students that have an all-around better homelife usually do better in their classes and are behaved better. However, this is no excuse for the ones living a harder life to perform poorly in their classes and act out against the rules. I lost a lot of my parental guidance in 7th due to my dad having a stroke. I wouldn’t have noticed that just being getting everything you need for school and having constant support from home helped immensely for many of the students. Students that don’t get much attention at their own homes disbehave to get attention at school. I’ve noticed that that the people who have overcome something in their life try extremely hard to succeed and work diligently to reach their full potential. Going through stressful events in life gives them a reason to work that much harder towards success. Even without my parents pushing me to do my best every minute of my life, I have acquired my own drive to success. Every student is capable of acquiring a drive like mine.
