...Task 4 Sarah Phillips Willow Bend Hospital’s compliance does indeed have multiple deficiencies and is in need of review as many were updated in 2009 and 2010. All information on deficiencies would be found on the latest updated version of the Joint Commission Information Standards. This should be located within the Corporate Compliance/Risk Manager’s office. As this information is not currently available to this writer without a subscription and fee, I must use the information available to me. So expansion and explanation of policy details are limited. In 2010, the policy addressing terminology and abbreviations was integrated into the Information Management standards as elements of performance 2 and 3 under IM.02.02.0 by Joint Commission. The hospital administration or HIM administration should have a committee to ensure the terminology and abbreviations are updated and distributed to all clinical areas, are posted within the electronic record system, and performed within specific time frames. The policy for addressing backup of electronic information systems can be found in Standard IM.01.01.03. The policy for managing interruptions to information processes is located within this Standard. This standard should be in the HIM department’s policy as well as IT department. The Medical Records Manager and IT Manager should maintain communication as to backups, updates, and scheduled downtime. IT will ensure all hospital employees’ awareness of any downtime...

...Two Significant social consequences of the First Industrial Revolution Urbanization was a social consequence that was brought about during the first industrial revolution. Urbanization is where urban areas gain a large population in a very short amount of time. "It is characterized by the large-scale migration of people from the rural areas to the urban areas, thus leading to a sudden and often unexpected increase in the population. There is also growth in agriculture, thus making more options of income accessible to the people. (Buzzle 2013) During the Industrial revolution factories started to grow which in turn created more jobs in manufacturing. Lower class individuals and most of the working classes found it easier and more promising to find employment in up and coming factories. This led to the factories making enormous amounts of money with loads of new opportunities for the people seeking them. People began to re-locate for work bringing more and more people into the urban areas at an alarming rate. "This collectively resulted in the creation of a wave of large-scale migration from the rural areas to be the newly established commercial settlements which, in just a few years, went on to become fully urbanized, with all the necessary amenities and facilities." (Buzzle 2013) Urbanization affected the jobs, the money, and the living situations of many individuals. It also had some negative effects at the time. "There was in increase in crime rates, poverty, deforestation...

...what tasks to do themselves and what tasks should be delegated out after coming in and finding their basket full of tasks that need to be dealt with. When you obtain the position of supervisor, there is usually far too much for just you to do, therefore it is important to learn what to delegate and who to delegate it to. The most important tasks should be done by the supervisor but as far as things such as someone’s vacation hours and stocking merchandise for the store, those tasks should be delegated out to the assistant manager and to the store clerks. Being a supervisor means being in a role of leadership, logic, common sense, and decision making for yourself, the employees, and for the company. The “in Basket” debate and discussion gives us and our fellow classmates the opportunity to see if we can successfully delegate out certain tasks as a supervisor at a fictitious company. The discussion between me and fellow classmates was a great one and it appeared as though everyone agreed on everything accept for different incidents. The only two incidents where I came across disagreement were in regards to task number 3, and task number 4. These are the examples in which I will be using in this paper as far as disagreeing is concerned. Task number 3 is in regards to the mall hours changing for an upcoming holiday and that there is a request for store plans. In my own opinion and the opinion of all of my fellow classmates accept for one that I could find agreed that this task needed...

...improvement and future success of this company moving into the public market. In order to properly perform an assessment of the LBJ Company, there first had to be some set of standards or regulations that outline the internal controls and proper procedures for companies and businesses to adhere to for financial reporting. As it turns out internal control is a key component of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act(FCPA) of 1977 and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act(SOX) of 2002 which required companies to follow this set of internal controls. This list of internal controls is as follows: 1). Conduct its business in an orderly and efficient manner, 2). Safeguard its assets and resources, 3). Deter and defect errors, theft, and fraud, 4). Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting data, 5). Produce reliable and timely financial and management information, 6). Ensure adherence to its policies and plans.(O’Malley) From this point on all senior management officials will be held responsible for enforcing and ensuring that their company follows these regulations and...

The word began to be used in English c.1200 as a title for a judicial officer. Meaning "right order, equity" is late 14c. Justice of the peace first attested early 14c. In the Mercian hymns, Latin iustitia is glossed by Old English rehtwisnisse. To do justice to (someone or something) "render fully and fairly showing due appreciation" is from 1670s. ...Costing Method: The excel document title, “JET2 Task 1-4 Workbook” and tabs ‘Task 4 Cost-Volume-Profit’, and “Task 4 Activity Based Costing” is where the information is derived from and recommendations will be made based off of the information in these tabs. The excel document title, “JET2 Task 1-4 Workbook” and tab ‘Task 4 Cost-Volume-Profit’ highlights two unit costs methods: traditional and activity based. Each unit cost method will be analyzed and a recommendation will be made regarding which costing method should be used by Competition Bikes. Traditional method to figure out costs- this method computes the overhead cost of titanium bikes at $239,020 and the overhead costs of carbonlite bikes at $232,380 for a total overhead cost of $471,400 ($239,020 + $232,380= $471,400). Again this information was derived from the excel document titled, “JET2 Task 1-4 Workbook” and by clicking on tab ‘Task 4 Cost-Volume-Profit’ and by viewing the second half of the page, looking at the summary of traditional and carbonlite overhead costs. Once the overhead costs are known the direct costs for each bike will be added to that number. So for titanium bikes the direct cost is $402,300 plus the overhead cost $239,020= $ 641,320 for titanium bikes. For carbonlite bikes the direct cost is $447,000 + $232,380= $679,380. The $641,320 for the titanium bikes is considered the total cost and the $679,380 is considered the total cost for the carbonlite bikes. Take the total cost for each bike...

...Biochemistry Task 4 GRT1 208.5.4-01, 03-05, 5.5-02, 04-07 Western Governors University Biochemistry Task 4 GRT1 208.5.4-01, 03-05, 5.5-02, 04-07 A. Case 1: Hereditary Fructose Intolerance A1. Role of Enzymes in Processes Enzymes are proteins that carry out chemical reactions. They bind to substrates, which are basically substances that need to be broken down and changed into something else. When the enzyme and substrate bind, they form the enzyme-substrate complex. An enzyme will act in a specific way on the substrate that it is bound to in order to change it into a product, and at the end of the process, the enzyme is unchanged and ready to bind to the next substrate. An enzyme acts as a catalyst, something that lowers the energy required to complete a chemical reaction (activation energy) without itself being changed. (Hudon-Miller, 2012) In the case of fructose breakdown, an enzyme called fructokinase is responsible for splitting fructose into fructose 1-phosphate, a six-carbon fructose. Another enzyme called aldolase B splits fructose 1-phosphate into two three-carbon molecules, dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and glyceraldehyde. These products are then able to enter the glycolysis pathway to be converted to pyruvate, which is essential for the citric acid cycle and the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) for cellular energy. A2. Deficiency in Aldolase B A hereditary deficiency in aldolase B could be caused by mutations in the ALDOB gene. An aldolase...

...t2 Task 4 In: Computers and Technology Tft2 Task 4 TFT2 Task 4 As the chief information security officer for VL Bank, we were notified by several of our commercial customers of unauthorized wire transfers in an amount greater than $290,000. This is very concerning since we take pride in our information security. As soon as we were notified of the fraudulent transactions my security team, along with the network engineers, performed a thorough investigation of how such attack had occurred. Once we were able to view all logs and audit data it came to our attention that the data did not appear to be stolen from our network. All transactions performed were done so with the appropriate credentials. Once we determined that the data breach did not occur on our network we worked with the customers to check their personal computers. We discovered that all the information was gathered from the customers with a key-logging virus that collected the usernames, account numbers, passwords, personal identification numbers, URL addresses, and digital certificates used to access the VL Bank online banking site. Further investigation showed that there was not adequate virus protection on these PCs. The key-logging virus originated from a phishing email impersonating VL Bank and asking the customer to load the latest security software to protect from identity theft. The customers reported the fund transfer immediately (within 48 hours) and they are protected under the Electronic Fund...

...Name QHT1 Task 4 9/6/2015 As a manager of a business it is important to know how to overcome the communication barriers. I will list the four key types of communication barriers and how to avoid them so a company can run more productively. The four categories are process barriers, personal barriers, physical barriers, and semantic barriers. Process barriers are having an issue of communication between the sender and the receiver. An issue occurs when the message has too much information and it’s confusing, having a fear of criticism or language differences. To tackle this problem, as a manager I would apply such methods as explaining my message I send to make sure the receiver understands it, or just set up meetings or conduct one on one conversations to communicate messages. Personal barriers are the real or imagined deterrents between you and the success you want to achieve. The best way to overcome personal barriers is to identify what keeps you from achieving your goals, and then take steps to remove those barriers and focus on the positives. It’s also important to not overstep privacy boundaries of others. (Barriers to Effective Communication) Physical barriers can prevent people from having effective communication The environment can have an effect on it, such as not be able to communicate clearly because of weather conditions, or being in an area where it’s too noisy and crowded it can be hard to hear what the other person is saying. Important work related conversations...
