...I thought that I would talk to you guys about the one thing that I know really well, and that is my job. My neighbors daughter Caitlin was born with a cyst on her brain which has put her developmentally behind as far as school goes. I started working with Caitlin when I was in the fifth or sixth grade by babysitting her and I continued to do so all the way through the end of High School. When I started College Caitlin's Mom called me up during the summer and asked me if I was interested in having a real job where I get an actual paycheck versus just the regular cash that I got from babysitting; and of course I said yes. This was back when Caitlin was a Freshman in High School; she is now going to be a Senior in the Fall of this year. The job that Caitlin's Mom hired me to do was to work SHL (Supported Home Living) and Respite hours. The difference between the two is that SHL hours require me to actually teach Caitlin by working with her on for example learning to count money and make change. The other part of SHL hours requires me to work with Caitlin to teach her life skills like cooking, cleaning, and taking care of herself. Respite hours just require me to hang out with Caitlin and do things like play Wii, go swimming as well as going to things like her Special Olympics events. As much as I love my job there are times that it frustrates me like when Caitlin is supposed to be doing her homework but all she wants to do is watch TV. It's hard to be angry at her though because...

...day in the near future a company with make it useful for a large variety of things. According to Forbes.com even Mark Zuckerberg, chairman of Facebook has said “Imagine enjoying a court side seat at a game, studying in a classroom of students and teachers all over the world or consulting with a doctor face-to-face—just by putting on goggles in your home.” And with that kind of backing you know the technology has very great potential. We will be able to learn better by being immersed in a world where the instructor can teach us by showing use in real time what they want us to see. I mean just think of how awesome that would be as a teach also, taking your students on a “Magic School Bus” like tour of the inside of a computer. So I hope one day the virtual reality makes it way to improve our lives like so many other technologies already have. Everyone know how much easier Siri has made live with the use of voice recognition and Auto Intelligence, but they forget how powerful it can be. Auto Intelligence can be a useful tool if you know how to use it and teach it how to search for the stuff you want to find. Now we have self-driving cars, and robots that can do just about anything. Before though the robots had to be programmed and would only follow a set of...

...a lot of public and private universities which is a good thing but they should improve a lot the way they disseminate knowledge. Because from all of these universities we can count only two or three which are really universities and have the characteristics that a university should have. I have personally experienced two types of education system the American one and our system here in Albania. I went for junior year in San Diego in Mission Hills High School and when I firstly started school I faced the differences of the way of teaching and also the way of learning. In United States they do not teach students thirteen subjects in a semester and year by year they teach them less subjects but in more details. That is the way they teach young children and also the way they teach university’s students. While here in Albania they start from the first grade to give pupils a lot of stuff and...

...I want to become a color guard captain because of the new opportunities to teach others and be able to learn more about responsibility and challenge myself. I would also like to help set a good example for the younger grades. Color Guard has been a huge change in my life and has helped me a lot and I would love to show others that they can be apart of a team that can change their life for a very long time. I am going to be captain so that I can help others learn to do stuff they love. Color guard is supposed to be challenging and it is not easy, but I love the idea of watching others grow and become stronger. To me, being a color guard captain means that I can learn to become more responsible while also helping others become a version of themselves they may have not seen before....

...progressively worse and worse in the United States, and it needs to end now. Human trafficking is when somebody gets abducted and they get sold to people for money. When this does happen to people it doesn’t just affect them, but it affects their friends, family, and their community. They get sold to people and are treated like an animal. They are not fed right, and some even get drugged to do stuff against their own will. This issue is happening everywhere in the world, but especially in the United States. Human Trafficking happens every day, and everywhere. For example some people have got abducted by walking to and from school. Human Trafficking is generally a crime against persons, violating their human and labor rights in the process. (Vanessa, 2015) Sometimes even when you are just walking to get your mail. It could happen anytime and anywhere and it happens so fast that you wouldn’t even know what happened to you. Human Trafficking is the second most profitable criminal enterprise for transnational organized crime groups. (Vanessa, 2015)Sadly, by the times someone would notice that you were missing you could...

...Educational Philosophy There are many problems that all teachers face in their classrooms daily whether they are new teachers or teachers with years of experience. It seems that educators should teach the lesson and then test them whether the children have learned the material or not. As Jiddu Krishnamurti once said, “Merely to stuff the child with a lot of information, making him pass examinations, is the most unintelligent form of education.” One that troubles teachers commonly is finding the right combination of techniques to effectively encourage students learning and participation in the classroom without simply throwing them information and expecting them to do wonderful on a test. In my classroom I have faced many instances where the students do not want to participate nor do they see the significance of learning the content, and during these times I have relied on three philosophical methods to aid their comprehension by relating the content you are teaching to the students everyday life, allowing the students the opportunity to use problem-solving techniques to understand material and discussing how society’s issues can directly relate to the topics in the lesson that we are studying. There is significant importance to relating the content you are trying to teach to the student’s everyday life. Being able to make the connection for them could be the difference in them understanding the content or just remembering answers for a test. In the American History...

...could really hurt them. He says that "So far, our daughter, Sophie, does fine at Christmas. Her stocking is exciting to her; the tree is exciting; skating on the pond is exciting. It's worth mentioning, however, that we don't have a television, so she may not understand the degree of her impoverishment." He states earlier that it is not about the money anymore it is about bringing more joy to the holiday. I on one hand can see his point on this, the holidays are about joy and spending time with one another and not about how much stuff you get. now on the other growing up we got two toys for Christmas and then all the other stuff was neat but it was stuff that we needed for school or for everyday life. I know that I would like to teach my children to be thankful for what they have and to enjoy spending time with one another because as time goes on school and friends and life will take them in different directions so build those bonds now and you can keep them for life. I might actually try this $100 Christmas and see how it goes because sharing and helping...

...We all know evolution is just a theory and nothing about it can be proven. Or can it? Evolution has more evidence than most theories, but yet it is not officially taught in school. Why is that, and are people right saying it should not be taught in schools just because it counters everything creationism says? Its very important to teach evolution for several reason, like it helps you in different jobs. My first reason evolution should be taught in schools is that if someone whats a job in biology, other jobs evolution can give several important skills you will need for the work force like it tell you the history of the animal, Nothing would make sense in biology if you did not know anything about evolution. My second reason evolution should...

...Casa 2-4 Spyware can be good but also bad so we are going to compare the good vs. the bad. The definition of spyware is a program that is install into your computer and gathers information wether for good or bad reasons. Lets talk about legitimate spyware and there are many. For example, Cookies: computers automaticly have cookies to track were you been and it records its. For business side it a good idea to have cookies because it can tell you whether the person is on or how many times and if your in shopping kind of business that helps out a lot. Cookies also authenticate your site. There are other good perpuses of spyware but I would have to look longer. Now for the bad spyware, and there are a lot of bad stuff about spyware. For example, Spyware can never go away one click away from hackers having your information can not be seen collact data such as valueble information popup keyloggers And the list just goes on and on, over all its a bad idea to have spyware but we need it too because it helps us identify if we got hacked through cookies and yet cookies are bad too. Technology is growing and some stuff we can not control but we can prevent from it getting out of hand. ...Should cursive writing be teached in the 21st century? In my opinion, I think yes, cursive writing should be teached. I think cursive writing is important because not everything is typed. Handwriting is a beneficial factor for your brain and your penmanship. Signatures are needed for a vary of documents, knowing cursive will give you a better stance for signing checks, social securities, bank card etc. Now a days, most paper work and documents are proccessed through technology. However, they are many documents and paper work that need to be writen by hand. From my learnings, the goverment does most of it's confidential paper work by hand because computers and other devices alike can be hacked, but not all teachers do all of the work by typing....

...If children does not be effected by it why should the school stop teach about it? Children need to know what happened with the world in schools because if they don’t they might wonder why they don’t and they would take it back in teaching. The tragedy went to the worst and killed more human than Rungnado May Day Stadium (that is the world’s biggest soccer stadium today) that is capable to carry 150 000 people. Take that and multiply it with 500. That is many people. And last I also think we should learn about WW2 because you also learn about many important discoveries in subjects like medicine, machinery and power. WW2 lead to murder, hate and misery. We look at this subject and learn about war but in WW2, the world discovered many life-changing abilities in medicine. Because of the doctors under WW2, we know a lot more about the human body that we may would not know today without the war. The doctors they sawed of arms and amputated without narcosis. The scientists discovered antibiotic, penicillin, and other important formulas we...

...front of dad’s tombstone and recalled the memories with him. “When are you coming home, dad?” Louise asked. “I don’t know when, but we will get together then. You know we will have a good time then.” Daniel replied. Why doesn’t he spend a little time on me? I was asking him to teach me how to throw a ball but he said no. If he could spend only 15 minutes to be with me, that would be more than enough for me. I smiled at him and walked away. I wondered does he love me, as his only child. He often comes home late at night and time with him was considered a scarcity. 5 minutes is quite a privilege. I go back to dad’s house, tidy up all his stuffs. As I flip over all the letters in a box, I realize that was many letters sent by the Children’s Home Association of London. All of the contents were the same - “Thank you for your love and care for the children.” There must be something wrong, dad were always busy with his works. He had no time to be bothered about this stuff. I rang up the association and the person in charge asks me to have a meet up at the children’s home. I step into the entrance, looking for the person in charge. I glance over the wall with many frames. I saw a familiar guy in one of the frames, that’s dad! I can’t believe my eyes! “Hi! You must be Mr Louise! I’m Vivian, the caretaker here. Nice to meet you! You look just like your father. ” she said. “Yes I am. Hmm… Nice to meet you too.” I replied. She brought me over her room and gave me a medal with...

...Dear Governor Abbott: Clemantine Wamariya, the author of “I Remember Night: In Remembrance of Elie Wiesel, wrote that ”Night” had changed her life forever. Reading Night can galvanize a change in someone to not keep to themselves anymore. As she says, “his words could reverberate across time and culture.” (Par. 1) Clementine went through some pretty harsh stuff as a child, but when reading this book her teacher had shown them, it changed her life forever. The book “Night” is a way of showing kids to speak out and showing them the reality of stuff and not holding back, and I believe if you ban this book kids will never really know the true horrors of the Holocaust. Learning can really change a child's life vastly, and so history may never...
