...of Information Technologies Class written by a number of authors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the classroom management and discipline problems that exist for teachers who teach while using technology. The article also seeks to reveal what the causes are that may be causing the issues in the classroom and the possible solutions (Erdogan, Kursun, Tan Sisman, Saltan, Gok & Yildiz, 2012). The participants that were used for this study are very diverse and widespread, but with the same common interest of identifying the problems of the classroom management. These participants of this article were made of seventeen parents, fourteen administrators, and fourteen teachers. The data that was collected was done so in a manner of the participants observing the class. This method was different, parallel, and semi-structured. Data was collected through the method of content analysis, which showed a lack of motivation, breaking rules and routines, lack of infrastructure, insufficient time management, ineffective classroom environment, and the lack of interaction in classrooms (Erdogan, Kursun, Tan Sisman, Saltan, Gok & Yildiz, 2012). ...educator. The first disposition of teaching is the commitment to diversity. Commitment to diversity is a strong point of mine because I have first handedly seen the benefits of diversity in the schools. In one hand I went to a middle school that was about 30% African American, 25% Hispanic, and 45% White. On the other hand I went to a high school that was almost 95% White, 4% African American, and 1% Hispanic. I feel like the students I went to school with in the diverse community had a more open mind about society in a whole which clearly made for better learning. I also observed that the teachers at the diverse school seemed to have more motivation to drive the students to succeed. The more diverse schools also seem to have a more positive attitude towards diverse cultures and learners. The more open a student is to other cultures, the more open he or she is with society. Diversity, a key to live, is extremely important in the school system which traces back to the teachers. Another disposition is the commitment to...

...CHAPTER ONE 1.0 Introduction The invaluable role and contributions of education as an instrument for development and promotion of an individual, social, economic, political and cultural development of any nation can never be over-emphasized. According to Abdulkareem (2007), a nation’s growth and development is determined by its human resources. Science has been defined as an organized body of knowledge, a method of solving problems and it also serves as a search of explanation of natural objects and phenomena. In the demesne of science as a whole, one important dialect is Biology, the domain of living things and its environment. According to Encyclopedia Americana (Vol. 3, P770), “few sciences have contributed to the philosophy and physical basis of contemporary society than Biology has”. Man, probably was a biologist before he was anything else, his own health body in health and illness, the phenomena of birth, growth, and death of the plants and other animals that give him food, shelter and clothing undoubtedly were matters of serious concern to man then and even now. Biology is intimately connected to daily life and everybody’s life-long planning. Shut out Biology from daily life and civilization comes to a standstill. It is in the light of this, that the research seeks to build and elicit among students and teachers the proper appreciation and interest in the value of Biology to the individual and to the society at large. This subject Biology, occupies a very important...

...Ms. Tracie Jones Intro to College Writing 100 February 25, 2009 My Educational Experience As a freshman in college, I have had numerous experiences with education. Although some of my educational experiences have been negative most of them to date have been positive and very beneficial to me as a student. Many of my educational experiences have been from various sources. Such as, educational videos, the news, lectures, and many other sources. An educational experience I have encountered is watching Bill Nye the Science Guy videos in my 7th grade earth science class. My class would watch a video on what topic we were discussing that week in class. These videos are very easy to understand and informational. Watching the videos would give me a better understanding about the material we were going over. Over the years I have learned that I learn and remember things better by seeing them on an educational video rather that just listening to the teacher lecture. Watching videos in 7th grade was an immense benefit to my learning. In my college experience I haven’t watched any educational videos to help my learning and understanding of the material. The classes I have been enrolled in, the professors lecture the material and my fellow students and I take notes on the lecture. In America today, many children sit in front of the television and watch it for hours at a time. Thus, watching the videos at school would keep them more interested in the material because it...

...them interpret and adapt to a changing world. The ability to teach skills such as reading, writing, and problem solving, and then apply them to situations in my students’ everyday lives is crucial. Teachers who encourage students to reflect on what they’ve learned and incorporate those skills into their lives develop their students’ critical literacy. And, with this ability to interpret the world around them, students begin to adapt and succeed in a changing world. The student’s journey into literacy begins with a teacher. Social Reconstructionism was founded by Theodore Brameld, in reaction against the realities of World War II. He recognized the potential for either human annihilation through technology and human cruelty or the capacity to create a beneficent society using technology and human compassion. George Counts recognized that education was the means of preparing people for creating this new social order. Social Reconstructionism emphasizes the addressing of social questions and a quest to create a better society and worldwide democracy. Social Reconstructionist educators focus on a curriculum that highlights social reform as the aim of education. For Social Reconstructionist’s, curriculum focuses on student experience and taking social action on real problems, such as violence, hunger, international terrorism, inflation, and inequality. Strategies for dealing with controversial issues (particularly in social studies and literature), inquiry, dialogue, and multiple perspectives...
