Overview of the team
In 2013, the HuaLi Meter Company wanted to improve the effective of work process and standardize the operation instruction. Therefore, the organization set up a quality improve team, which involve eight people, to analysis the work process and product (kilo-watt-hour meter). This team were made of one team leader, two operation staffs, two product measure staffs, two data analysis staffs, and one standard draft staff.

There are two main reasons. The first one is different cultures. The team members were coming from different cities. Therefore, we had different responds in the same situation. Everyone believed his thinking or approach was the best, so the competition was created. For example, in the process of making everyday plan, people from the south of China is the cautious style, so they believed when arranging the work, the team should allow for unforeseen circumstances. There are two main kinds of conflict. One is the team members had different opinions about the work. In this conflict, the typically approaches to resolve conflict were negotiation or bargaining. If the conflict cannot resolve through negotiation or bargaining, the leader will make the final decision. Another is different expectations about the impact of decisions. In this conflict, the approaches also were negotiation or bargaining. However, if they cannot work, the team will debate at first, and then all the team members vote to decide the solution.
Decision making or Problem solving In our team, there are three main ways to make decision or solve problem: 1. Leader oriented 2. All the team members discuss 3. Request the company aid. Leader oriented: when the decision did not need high quality, or the decision did not have attribute of right or wrong, or the problem did not need expert knowledge, the leader usually decided.
