Wireless Technologies Proposal
The cliental for Party Plates continues to expand and we would like to continue expanding as the best party planning business worldwide. For Party Plates to continue down this path of maintaining our goals that we have established in making it the successful business it is today, we are suggesting at least two wireless technologies that will help in continuing the financial growth that would not only benefit the company but our employees. These technologies we are suggesting for implementation are Wi-Fi or wireless fidelity and smartphones. This will not only boost growth but it plays a very large part in reducing cost. These cost reductions comes from inventory reduction, speed of transactions, access to markets and suppliers, and efficient supply chain management. Wi-Fi is allows computers, smartphones, or other devices to connect to the internet or communicate with one another wirelessly within a particular area. Because of its reliability and speed, it will help in generating business globally and locally. This will allow Party Plates to market a large variety of products and services worldwide. It will also open up online sales to international markets at a low cost. Wi-Fi allows employees to have access to their jobs assignments via the internet from home or anywhere in the world.
The next wireless technology we would like to implement would be the smartphones, which would be able access Wi-Fi anywhere anytime. The smartphones could also be used when there is not access to a desktop, laptop, or tablet. Smartphones are beneficial because employees will never be out of touch. We will be able to create numerous apps that will do many things and have access to the internet at any time. Party Plates employees will have mobile invoicing software, calendars, email, instant messaging, and chat. Employees and owners are always kept in the loop on business decisions or any problems that may arise. Employees and owners will also be able to respond quickly to customer requests and complaints in a timely manner. This is just like having an office on the go and since many of our employees do a lot of travelling, they can and will always stay productive. The pros and cons of using Wi-Fi and smartphones at Party Plates are somewhat advanced. When you are using Wi-Fi in a business you want to have the Wi-Fi secured. The pros of the Wi-Fi in the Party Plates business is the Wi-Fi is secured for the workers only and it also helps not to have a landline to work. You do not have to use any plugs or cords to have access to your work tools. When it comes to the cons when you are dealing with Wi-Fi it is hard to stay in the range of the area of what it gives you access to. In a company that should not be a problem because you should have your laptop and or smartphone at your workstation. The pros of smartphones are that they can be used with Wi-Fi and or on the landline network. It also has capabilities depending on the smartphone that you have you can do spreadsheets and or papers. There are a lot of gadgets and tools on smartphone’s that are essential to life and also the workplace. When it comes to the cons of a smartphone some have bad reception that causes the phone not to cooperate. Then you also have to worry about your work getting lost on your phone because a lot of hard drives in phones does not support saving a lot of data and it depends on the storage in that phone. It is hard to keep data and also your text messages and pictures in your phone along with work from school or your job.
Smart phones can also store and track detailed information about customers. The risk of using smart phones would be data failing and also not having enough room on the device to store account information. When you have a smartphones you have to have enough gigabytes on the device in order to save a large amount of information. The risk of converting to wireless technology would be the exposure to personal customer information from hackers. Technical problems could delay employees from obtaining information. Enclosed are estimates of incorporating these wireless technologies into our company.
