...Technical aspect Digital Literacy * Low Cost Low Power (LCLP) Chips to provide cheap and robust computing power. * Investment in communication technologies which can be used to provide connectivity in rural areas. The plight of farmers is an issue that matters. Only by making their work more efficient, more profitable, and more sustainable can we meet the much needed available and affordable food. As demonstrated in the project in Odisha, eAgriculture provides a cheap and fully sustainable way to help farmers. The impact on farmers’ lives is potentially immense, as they are able to lower the costs of their production, improve productivity, and thereby increasing the incomes. The impact on society is equally powerful, as countries can achieve food security, while creating jobs and strengthening long-term economic growth. * Creating Ecosystem Standards in order to maintain quality in end products manufactured and sold. Sustainability at Intel Corp. has grown from a concept driven to a shared priority that influences each parameter of the company—from its employees and buildings to its products and communities. Intel’s efforts in the area of sustainability have been publicly recognized for the quality maintenance. * Creating Local Language Application in order to make it easy for local population to access them. * Supporting Local Language Content Creators in order to create engagement with Local Population. ...depend on aspect ratio ~ depth/width ! rather than the absolute feature size. 1 Several mechanisms have been invoked to explain the ‘‘rule’’ of aspect-ratio-dependent etching ~ ARDE ! , but no general theory has emerged that captures the variety of seemingly conflicting experimental observations reported in the literature. 1,2 For example, while an ion-neutral synergy model with pure neutral flux shadowing appears to be con- sistent with a wealth of ARDE measurements in semiconductors, 2 it does not hold for the etching of insula- tors. Indeed, Doemling et al. 3 have reported inverse ARDE of trenches and holes in SiO 2 in a high-density CHF 3 plasma at 20 mTorr. Remarkably, they also reported aspect ratio independent etching ~ ARIE ! when the pressure was lowered to 6.7 mTorr; for fixed etching time, the etch depth was the same for a variety of trench widths and hole diameters ~ as low as 0.25 m m, corresponding to an aspect ratio of 8.5:1 ! . These authors convincingly argued that the strong influence of feature geometry on neutral flux of an etch inhibitor, pro- duced in the CHF 3 plasma, is responsible for the inverse ARDE at the higher pressure. The low pressure results were explained by hypothesizing that the neutral density at the bottom of the trench or hole, while ‘‘too low to cause inverse ARDE, it was still sufficient to suppress regular ARDE.’’ This hypothesis must be valid for all trenches and holes etched at the low pressure, which spanned the regime of aspect ratios...

...Direct and Indirect Speech We often have to give information about what people say or think. In order to do this you can use direct or quoted speech, or indirect or reported speech. Direct Speech / Quoted Speech Saying exactly what someone has said is called direct speech (sometimes called quoted speech) Here what a person says appears within quotation marks ("...") and should be word for word. For example: She said, "Today's lesson is on presentations." or "Today's lesson is on presentations," she said. Indirect Speech / Reported Speech Indirect speech (sometimes called reported speech), doesn't use quotation marks to enclose what the person said and it doesn't have to be word for word. When reporting speech the tense usually changes. This is because when we use reported speech, we are usually talking about a time in the past (because obviously the person who spoke originally spoke in the past). The verbs therefore usually have to be in the past too. For example: Direct speech | Indirect speech | "I'm going to the cinema", he said. | He said he was going to the cinema. | Tense change As a rule when you report something someone has said you go back a tense: (the tense on the left changes to the tense on the right): Direct speech | | Indirect speech | Present simple She said, "It's cold." | › | Past simple She said it was cold. | Present continuous She said, "I'm teaching English online." | › | Past continuous She said she was teaching English...

...68 PLC, 346-3226 http://tlc.uoregon.edu VERB TENSE WHAT IS VERB TENSE? In English, there are many ways to express time. Words like early, late, last week, yesterday, today, tonight, tomorrow, and next year help us specifically identify a period of time; in addition to these, verbs play an important role in communicating the “when” of an idea. HOW MANY TENSES ARE THERE? English verbs have three main tenses (past, present, and future) and four forms of each of these tenses (simple, progressive, perfect, and perfect progressive). Note the patterns in the following chart for the verb “to learn” as it would appear after “I” in each of the twelve tenses: SIMPLE PROGRESSIVE be + verb+ing PAST 1 verb+ed PRESENT 2 PERFECT 2 1 have + verb+ed PERFECT PROGRESSIVE have + been + verb+ing 2 learned was learning had learned had been learning verb FUTURE 3 will + verb learn am learning have learned have been learning will learn will be learning will have learned will have been learning 1 Verb forms may be constructed differently for irregular verbs (for example, I drink/ I drank/ I have drunk two liters of water). Specific form of be and have depends on tense (past or present) and the noun or pronoun it follows (singular/plural, I, you, he/she/it, we, they). “Am going to” can be substituted for “will”; it is slightly less formal but otherwise synonymous. 2 3 WHEN DO WE USE EACH TENSE? Refer to the following...

...of three-dimensional turbulent flow and heat transfer was performed in four types of rotating channels. The first type is a rotating rectangular channel with V-shaped ribs. The channel aspect ratio (AR) is 4:1, the rib height-to-hydraulic diameter ratio (e/Dh) is 0.078 and the rib pitch-to-height ratio (P/e) is 10. The rotation number and inlet coolant-to-wall density ratio were varied from 0.0 to 0.28 and from 0.122 to 0.40, respectively, while the Reynolds number was varied from 10,000 to 500,000. Three channel orientations (90 degrees, −135 degrees, and 135 degrees from the rotation direction) were also investigated. The second type is a rotating rectangular channel with staggered arrays of pinfins. The channel aspect ratio (AR) is 4:1, the pin length-to-diameter ratio is 2.0, and the pin spacing-to-diameter ratio is 2.0 in both the stream-wise and span-wise directions. The rotation number and inlet coolant-to-wall density ratio varied from 0.0 to 0.28 and from 0.122 to 0.20, respectively, while the Reynolds number varied from 10,000 to iv 100,000. For the rotating cases, the rectangular channel was oriented at 150 degrees with respect to the plane of rotation. In the rotating two-pass rectangular channel with 45-degree rib turbulators, three channels with different aspect ratios (AR=1:1; AR=1:2; AR=1:4) were investigated. Detailed predictions of mean velocity, mean temperature, and Nusselt number for two Reynolds numbers (Re=10,000 and Re=100,000) were carried...
