Modern technology has increased material wealth, but not happiness

We live in the age of technology. We commute by automobiles and airplanes and communicate by emails and mobiles. The media and the Internet provide us the latest information from all over the world. Movies filled with hi-tech special effects entertain us. Air conditioners and room heaters keep our life comfortable despite climatic inconveniences. Technology has changed almost every of our lives. Of course, technology may have concerns about the pollution and environmental problems. But overall most people feel that technology has benefited us immensely. Therefore let us go deeper to analyze that modern technology has increase material wealth, but not happiness on our society:
Firstly, modern technology makes people's life boring, after working time people often sitting by their computer to play games or reading some information on internet. That means they do not refresh their mind and by accident they turn their own into slave of modern technology. It can make life better but it can cause you disease or stressed also.
Second, modern technology has improved communication technology between cultures. With modern communication technology such as TVs, phones and computer, internet, you can see what people at the other end of the world is doing, but it can cause us some problem when speak through the phone a lot you will feel not better or headache cause by radioactive and your eye also have problem if you watch TV many hour in a day. And with a modern car, motor and airplane, we can travel to everywhere of the world. This will help us to know the other culture of the world, and you will learn to appreciate the cultural difference of people from different part of the earth. These vehicle make you easily, but actually many accident has happen every day by ridding car, motor…Example in Cambodia Traffic accident happen and 4.7 people die in accidents each day, according to a report by the Cambodian government and Handi cap International Belgium an NGO in Phnom Penh in (2009).
Third, modern technologies also make life easily by only controlled machine. Such as tractor, copy machine….It can make your work faster and easily, but sometime it can be error and your work will prohibit or damage. On the other hand, it will make you unhappy and pay with repairing it.
In conclusion, for the reasons above I think that modern technology can’t decide the happiness, it can provide people living standard but not happiness.
Does modern technology bring happiness? Studies show that as some Western countries reach basic level of modern technology, their wealth increases but they do not necessarily grow happier, or for that matter unhappier. Some other countries, on the other hand, have fetishized happiness where life has been at its most miserable. That is, modern technology does not bring happiness.

Since the 19th century, technology has changed our lives in many ways. On one hand, there is the positive effects of technology. It has contributed to the reduction of the mortality rate in society due to bring higher education and greater material wealth. Today, life expectancy in Europeans has climbed past 80. However, people does not seem to be glad to be alive. They are more anxious, trust government and business less, and get divorced more often. It is because life is so stressful and burdensome. For the appearance of technological devices such as television and computer, people spend most of their time sitting in front of screens. They hardly find time for face-to-face communication or go out to enjoy nature’s beauty.

In addition, the negative effects of modern technology is obvious. Nuclear technology can cause modern battle with the accessibility of many kinds of dangerous guns, deadly weapons and antipersonnel bombs. Once the wars happens, it causes lots of grievous damage: disastrous fields, dead people and diseases. Therefore, by giving an impulse to the modern wars, new technologies have decreased our happiness.

Modern technology had become a real evil in our lives. It exists to meet specific needs but does not produce general happiness. We would be happier if we lived without new technologies.
