The well known American Author William Faulkner was born on September 25, 1897 in the city of New Albany, Mississippi. This remarkable writer, became famous for his writings inspired on the American South: In center Yoknapatawpha County. His story Sanctuary was controversial, it was written in 1931. His story of Temple Drake was made as one of his projects. As a teenager Falkner enjoyed drawing, reading, and writing poetry. His intelligence was remarkable, as were his writing, so much that school bored him , dropping out of highschool. He immediately began working in his grandfather’s bank, as a clerk.working there, he met a lady, Estelle Odham, after getting to know each other, they fell in love. After passing a controversial phase, where she ended up marrying someone else because of his “higher” person position. He proposed engagement to her and she accepted. He mentored people that were interested in his poetry writing in, at Phil Stone. After mentoring he joined the United State Air Force, as a pilot in 1918, where he changed his last name from Falkner to Faulkner, to appear more British.
