Texas Roadhouse Won’t Scrimp on Making Employees Happy

...Texas Roadhouse Won’t Scrimp on Making Employees Happy Page 1 In my experience I would have to say that the phrase, “If we take care of our employees, they will take care of our customers.” When an employee is happy and content the employee ten times out of ten will definitely take care of the customer. In this case, everything is about attitude and the assurance of providing the employees with incentives. By giving incentives that the employees enjoy and look forward to can bring about competition between the employees to do their very best each and every day. Morale is heightened, turnover is low or minimal. Employees stay where they are happiest. Customers are treated with the utmost respect and customers will comeback. It is great that the company gives back to the community is such a big way. Employees that work for companies that care about the community can also boost the business and morale; it gives a sense of self accomplishment. To be able to say, “I was a part of that project,” gives a sense of pride and to know that you work for a company that wants to help is something big. When an employee treats a customer fairly and appears to go up and beyond, it makes the customer happy and they come back for more; this also help in job security. When a happy customer tells others about the great customer service in which they received; this in turn brings about new customers, which brings in profits. When a company takes care of their employees, the...

Chlid Abuse

...Why should child abuse be stopped? Child abuse should be stopped because children have no control over their own lives and their little voices are often never heard, so it is up to parents or even adults without children to come down heavily on those that make an innocent child's life miserable by physical or cruel verbal abuse. Child abuse should stop because it's a horrible thing to abuse a defenseless being. Ten Reasons to Prevent Child Abuse 1) Child abuse can be fatal. Each year, an average of three children a day are fatal victims of maltreatment. The vast majority of these children are under the age of one. In Indiana in 2003, there were 51 children who died as a result of child abuse and neglect. For more details of the deaths in Indiana, click here. 2) Child abuse stymies a child's normal growth and development. The emotional and physical damage children suffer from abuse and neglect is extensive. Documented consequences of abuse include chronic health problems, cognitive and language disorders, and socio-emotional problems, such as low self-esteem, lack of trust, and poor relationships with adults and peers. 3) Child abuse is costly for many social institutions. Remediation of the immediate consequences of serious physical abuse alone costs child welfare agencies, hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities millions of dollars annually. Aids in South Africa

...AIDS in South Africa Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome or AIDS is the most deadly disease known to man.  More than 25 million people have died of AIDS worldwide since the first cases were reported in 1981 and 33.4 million are currently living with HIV/AIDS. According to Advert, an international HIV and AIDS charity, almost 70% of the people in the world who are infected with AIDS live in Sub Saharan Africa. And in Sub Saharan Africa, South Africa is believed to have more people with HIV/AIDS than any other country in the world. Yet with all of this, the greatest tragedy yet may be the ignorance of AIDS. The large majority of Africans believe strongly that you can get rid of AIDS one of two ways; showering after intercourse with an infected person or having intercourse with a virgin. The latter is a major cause in the number of rapes that take place in Africa, especially child rapes. Even the current president of South Africa, Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma, is not exempt from this statistic. In December of 2005 he was charged with the rape of a woman who he knew to be HIV positive, in an interview he stated that he took a shower afterward to reduce the chance of infection. What is even more shocking about this is that Zuma, at the time was also the head of the National AIDS Council for South Africa. The groundbreaking article released at the end of 2002 by the Medical Research Council of South Africa, the “Impact of HIV/Aids on adult mortality in South Africa” report is the first...

Start from the Beginning

...Chronological Order There are many ways to tell a story. Some stories start in the middle and flash backward to the beginning; a few start at the end and tell the story in reverse. But most of the time, stories start at the beginning. Writers often begin with what happened first and then tell what happened next, and next, and so on, until the end. When writers tell a story in this order, from beginning to end in the order in which things happened, they are telling it in chronological order. Chronology is the arrangement of events in the order in which they occurred. Chronology and Transitions: Much of what you read is arranged in chronological order. Newspaper and magazine articles, minutes of meetings, explanations of procedures, and so on are usually arranged this way. For example, look at the following paragraph that might be found in a company newsletter: This year’s employee award ceremony was a tremendous success. The first award was given to Carlos Fe for Perfect Attendance. The second award, for Most Dedicated Employee, went to Jennifer Steele. Then, our president, Martin Lucas, interrupted the awards ceremony to announce that he and his wife were having a baby. When he finished, everyone stood up for a congratulatory toast. Afterward, the third award was given to Karen Hunt for Most Inspiring Employee. Finally, President Lucas ended the ceremony by giving everyone a bonus check for $100. You’ll notice that this paragraph tells what happened at the ceremony from start...

Gmos and Irradiation

...of irradiating foods. We have little or no knowledge about how they can affect our bodies. Having done some research on both subjects, it’s time to share some truths about GMOs and/or irradiation, including the lack of information on either subject, the near media blackouts of what is more truth than fiction, it would be wise to eat the real thing, not just fruits and vegetables that look like the real thing. What is Genetic Engineering? Genetic engineering of our food supply takes place when a gene from another source is inserted into another plant to create a plant that’s supposedly better than it was before the process took place. It doesn’t seem that this can be better than the original, but the corporations that now own the patents on those GMO seeds are cleaning up based on faulty or disgraceful science. There are two routine types of genetic engineering of food crops that involve weed and pest control. Plants, such as soy, are genetically engineered to withstand pesticides and herbicides such as those used by farmers—kill the weeds without killing the soy seedlings (Decuypere, 2014). Sounds like a great idea until you understand how dangerous the process really is and what it’s doing to our bodies and the environment. Creating GMO seeds makes the plants resistant to pesticides and herbicides and increases profit for Monsanto, the company that owns the patent on both the seeds and the chemicals Roundup and RoundupReady. Farmers have to buy new seeds...

Report on the Success Principles by Jack Canfield

...version of the book as a sort of primer for this book. The book is 473 pages including the index, plus an additional thirty or so pages in the introduction. Once you get into the meat of the book, there are 64 Principles covered in a relatively short chapters (some really short, some a little longer than others). All in all, it takes only a few minutes to read a given chapter. I think this would make a really good study for a group for more than a year – with weekly meetings. There is also a teen version of the book that only deals with versions of the first 21 principles. I. THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SUCCESS 1. Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life This is the only way to have power: be 100% responsible for your own life. This does not mean you always have control over outside circumstances, but you take full responsibility to take control of yourself in those situations. You have to give up all your excuses. E+R=O. Event + Response = Outcome. You can blame the Event or you can change your Response. Everything you are experiencing today is the result of choices you’ve made in the past and how those choices have interacted with circumstances. You must give up blaming and give up complaining (most people complain to the wrong person anyway – to people who cannot effect change). You either create or...

Dempsey is telling me we've got a problem. Martinez is shouting about how there is going to be a walkout. The hourly guy is saying something about harassment.
