...5 Research Questions for the Term Paper. CIS-512 Andrew Dick Dr. Hamid Gooda 1. The first question of the five is about Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) processors. AMD is known for their processors, however, their line of products that they have stems even further now. In the microprocessors division they have the Athlon variety, X2, K10, X2, AMD Opteron (Miller, 2010), are the specific microprocessors that they have. They also offer servers. The processors of the Opteron are the processors that are available. AMD also offers motherboards to their users as well The AMD Crossfire series are available in this line along with many others. AMD recently acquired a leading video card manufacturer and is promising more advanced video capabilities coded into new versions of their motherboards. It also offers software and memory solutions for businesses. AMD is said to offer the same basic product as Intel, however, at a cheaper price. Intel is established as the market leader in producing motherboards and processing chips for personal computers, and their prices and development have influenced AMD from the start (Miller, 2010), AMD actually produces "clones" of Intel products as well as their own specific line of chips and motherboards as explained above. The AMD Athlon XP processor runs very close to an Intel 4 processor and it is about half the price (Miller, 2010). For example, if a side-by-side comparison is used between the AMD Athlon 64 X2(939) and the Intel Core 2 Extreme...

...In this section, there is a checklist with blanks for further information about history of taking psychiatric medications. There are questions regarding the client’s history of participation in outpatient services and inpatient hospitalizations. Finally, there is a checklist for family history of psychiatric history with diagnoses listed and then blanks below for further explanation. This section is very thorough and, in my opinion, is easy for clients to fill out. Substance abuse questions take up an entire page with a decent screening that asks the frequency and duration of use of alcohol, ten different substances, and a space for “other.” I think this screening is necessary for identifying substance use/abuse behaviors in order for the practitioner to be aware of these behaviors and possible risks during treatment. The final section of the intake form has seven different topics covered: family background and history, trauma, education, occupation, relationship history and current family, legal status, and spiritual beliefs. In my opinion, these questions are all appropriate for a screening, because as mentioned before, it allows the practitioner to take a holistic approach to treatment. At the very end of the form is about a half page worth of blank space for the client to provide any additional information that they would like...

...The Cambridge Law Test: Specimen Questions All applicants who sit the test in Cambridge will be asked to answer one question in one hour. Individual Colleges will select, from a centrally-set bank of questions, the particular question or questions which appear on their test papers. Three types of questions will be made available to the Colleges, although most Colleges will use only one of the three types: Essay questions; Problem questions; Comprehension questions. Whichever type of question an applicant is asked to attempt, he or she will not be expected to have any prior knowledge of the law. Please note that the specimen questions provided on this website are intended to indicate, in broad terms, the kinds of question which will be asked; they should not, however, be taken as giving any specific indication of the precise topic areas which will be covered in the Cambridge Law Test. Essay Questions What is an essay question? Essay questions typically ask candidates to consider a statement of opinion and to discuss it, giving reasons for their answer. This may be done by (as in the first question below) asking for discussion of a quotation or (as in the second question) asking a direct question. What are we looking for? Although our essay questions refer to law-related matters, as can be seen from the examples below, that does not mean that we expect, or are looking for, knowledge of the law. Applicants who have studied or are studying law (for example...

...PRE-EXAM PRACTICE QUESTIONS The following problem questions are from previous exams. Note what is said about Common Errors to Avoid for each of the 4 questions. The first question is the least challenging (it was weighted accordingly). The questions are not in any particular order. SAMPLE 1 Krishnah wanted to purchase a motor cycle. She applied to Pino Motors Pty Ltd (“Pino’s”) who specialised in Forum motor cycles. Krishnah informed the dealer, Zvonko, that she wanted a motor cycle which was capable of high speed and suitable for regular use in motor cycle race meetings. Zvonko recommended a Mark IV Forum motor cycle to satisfy these requirements and showed Krishnah a demonstration model in the showroom. Before placing an order and signing a written contract for a "Mark IV Forum motor cycle”, Krishnah again asked Zvonko whether this particular bike was suited for racing. Zvonko assured her it was and many racing people used this type of bike. She also asked whether these particular bikes would “hold their value, relative to most other bikes”. Zvonko responded saying, “yes, I can almost guarantee they do, based on what I have read about them in some of the industry magazines”. The contract Krishnah signed contained the term, “The parties acknowledge that this contract contains the whole agreement and that no other statements whatever induced the sale.” When Krishnah took delivery of the motor cycle, she discovered that the acceleration was slow and after testing it before and...

...Writing Essays 1. Getting started The worst part about writing an essay can be starting the process. Before you rush into doing a pile of reading, you need to be very clear what your essay is about and what you are actually being asked to do. Typical essay questions: a) How do organizations typically manage stress? Critically evaluate the evidence for the effectiveness of stress management. b) Critically assess the extent to which a Conceptual Framework may guide the accounting standard-setting process. c) Identify and analyse significant developments in technology impacting on IMC. Discuss how such developments might affect international marketers and notions of the audience. The important thing to do when you approach an essay is carefully unpacking the essay question. For example, in question (a) above, you are being asked to do two things. First, to describe how organizations manage stress, and then to examine the evidence regarding the effectiveness of stress management. The first part of the essay, therefore, will be fairly descriptive, and you will be looking to read books and journal articles that discuss the ways that organizations manage stress. Don’t rely too heavily on one book or one particular journal article. Try to read as widely possible and make notes as you do so (see handout on reading and note-taking). The second part of the essay is rather more difficult, and it is here that many students fall down and lose marks. The key...

...your mind. Otherwise these ideas may be blocked (or be unavailable) when the time comes to write the later questions. This will reduce "clutching" or panic (anxiety, actually fear which disrupts thoughts). Set up a time schedule to answer each question and to review/edit all questions ▪ If six questions are to be answered in sixty minutes, allow yourself only seven minutes for each ▪ If questions are "weighted", prioritize that into your time allocation for each question ▪ When the time is up for one question, stop writing, leave space, and begin the next question. The incomplete answers can be completed during the review time ▪ Six incomplete answers will usually receive more credit than three, complete ones Read through the questions once and note if you have any choice in answering questions ▪ Pay attention to how the question is phrased, or to the "directives", or words such as "compare", "contrast", "criticize", etc. See their definitions in "Essay terms" ▪ Answers will come to mind immediately for some questions Before attempting to answer a question, put it in your own words ▪ Now compare your version with the original. Do they mean the same thing? If they don't, you've misread the question. You'll be surprised how often they don't agree. Think before you write: Make a brief outline for each question Number the items in the order you will discuss them ▪ Get right to the point State your main point in the...

...Based on the results of my experience, 60% of my answers were similar to how the majority of the people chose their answers. I chose objectively for questions that involved factual answers (No Googling!) but I was more influenced by the psychological prospects of the choices in the questions that involved gambling and lottery. I am also more of a risk taker and I think that prompted me to make certain choices which other people would have normally avoided. For example, in questions 7 & 8, I answered the questions objectively because I couldn’t imagine a tree that is taller than either 1200 feet or even 400 feet. Thus, while people would have normally provided their responses based on “anchoring”, and chose that the tallest redwood tree would be more than 400 feet (because they were given the value of 1200 feet in the previous question), I went about it objectively to choose the value of less than 400 feet. For question 9 though, I chose “Kristen is a bank teller and a liberal Democrat” as I was influenced by the representativeness heuristic because the information in the question led me to believe that Kristen’s portrayal was more like that of a conventional liberal Democrat than of a typical banker. So I considered this choice to be more reasonable even though the probability of...
