Behind the Ring there is a Thanks Bell Tower with three large bronze bells, and it rings every hour. After visiting the entrance, there is a long pathway leading to the Chapel. ...grant for an all expenses paid field trip and is in the process of picking a destination. I am writing this letter to request an opportunity to come to your school and talk to your fifth graders about the benefits of choosing Six Flags as their destination. A field trip to Six Flags would offer your students a chance to have fun while learning. They would have a chance to experience the Safari and the theme park during their trip. Normally our educational programs are geared toward middle school and high school age students but I am confident that we can adapt our math and physics day programs for your elementary school students. During these programs they learn math and science concepts while having fun riding the rollercoasters. They will also have a chance to go through a guided Safari tour where they will learn about all of the animals we have in our park. I thank you for your time and guarantee that, if chosen, your students will have an enriching experience at our theme park. You can contact me in my office at 631-555-4444. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Sarah Smith Six Flags Great Adventure P.O. ...November 26. As a federal a popular holiday in the U.S., Thanksgiving is one of the major holidays of the year. The event that Americans commonly call the "First Thanksgiving" was celebrated to give thanks to God for helping the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony survive their first brutal winter in New England. The first Thanksgiving feast lasted three days, providing enough food for 53 pilgrims and 90 Native Americans. The feast consisted of fish and shellfish, wild fowl, venison, berries and fruit, vegetables, harvest grains, and the Three Sisters: beans, dried Indian maize or corn, and squash. The New England colonists were accustomed to regularly celebrating "thanksgivings"—days of prayer thanking God for blessings such as military victory or the end of a drought. Thanksgiving Day in the United States started as a way of giving thanks to food collected from a good harvest or problems that were fixed. It originated in 1621 and was a religious festival, but is now largely secular. It is now a holiday on the fourth Thursday of November. Many people trace the origins of the modern Thanksgiving Day to the harvest celebration that the Pilgrims held in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1621. However, their first true thanksgiving was in 1623, when they gave thanks for rain that ended a drought. These early thanksgivings took the form of a special church service, rather than a feast, as is common now. In the second half of the 1600s, thanksgivings after the harvest...

...mediator between my classmates and administration. Helping to resolve issues is something I have tremendous pride in doing whilst using my leadership skills. During the school year, I required input from classmates for a trip that would be in November to Louisiana. At the time, a few of my classmates did not cooperate in the creation of class shirts for the trip. (Yes, this seems a little silly, nevertheless my grade is one blob of lazy in a positive way.) I swiftly held a meeting with the rest of the student council members and announced my idea of how to handle the situation. Coming up with a way to implement my idea while solving any grievances helped to benefit every one of my...

...out their files, photocopy, and printed out important documents, encode multiple files answering phone calls, and assist the trainees. I really enjoyed my on-the-job training. I learned the basic office works, the operation of common office equipment and facilities, the standard office rules and procedures and most of all the pleasant officers-employees relationships. Even if it’s not a real job that has a monthly salary, I really appreciated the effort that they accepted me and considered me as their co-employee. There are lots of things that I can say that I will never forget, from the day I walk in the building and going to pier 4 and 6 to the time I walked out of the building. I met people who I enjoyed being with through their jokes, trips and even their smiles. What I learned in my workplace is being hard working, even though it’s tiring. And keeping a...

Papa Lalo gave me an idea of a grandfather; very giving, doesn’t talk that much, but if he talks it is very wise, drinks beers, and other aspects of a grandfather I would imagine. The connection between Papa Lalo and Harry was like how I imagined. Both of my Grandparents died before I had gotten to know them very well. This had deprived me of an experience with my grandfathers, and it felt like I could never relate to my friends when they would come back from a trip talking about how amazing their grandparents where. It was like an empty space in my heart. As I read the story it was like I was...

Furthermore, from students, they thanked that they had passed for their board exams. Inside the church, you will see a lot of things on display as a proof of Mother Mary’s miracles to the lives of the devotees. The place is very peaceful and it is a good place to show your faithfulness to Mama Mary, although it is far from the City. Most people who visit Simala Church, will have their wishes granted. Others will have their lives changed and experience different other miracles. The whole place is still in the process of improving its structure and they are working on expanding the place to make more tourists visit the place. The monks are now building their monastery at the side of the church but due to some financial constraints, it will take some time before it will rise. However, it is incredible how the place had developed from a simple hut to what it is right now. HOW to get there: From Cebu City, go to South Bus Terminal near the Elizabeth Mall or also known as "E-mall" and ride a Bus there going to Sibonga. ...Hence, the reason why I did not only choose to study abroad, but to serve abroad as well. During my time in Costa Rica, I worked voluntarily in an extensive English program at La Universidad Veritas. There, another student and I taught an Intermediate English class to non-native speakers. Additionally, I had the opportunity to volunteer with an organization named Burumbum wherein I entertained children at Hospicio de huérfanos, an orphanage in San José, Costa Rica. In the aforesaid experiences, I had the joy of giving to others what others have generously given to me: time and service. More importantly, I gave both my students and the children at the orphanage an everlasting gift that they can share with others. I gave them love. Every class period, I would affirm my students’ accomplishments while encouraging their progress. Likewise, I met the children at their needs. I showed them compassion and love while encouraging them to have compassion with one another. Toward the end of volunteering, others informed me how much of a positive impact I had made on them. However, I strongly believe that it was not what I did for them that they were grateful of me, but what they could do for themselves as a result of what I did. It is my hope that my service can...

...DRA. This will be my first time participating in a mission trip in all my MCC carrier. I am taking this opportunity to tell you about my service to my parish and my school. I have worked many volunteer jobs at my local middle school, Our Lady of Lourdes, and I have the position of being given a responsibility as a young adult has changed mine completely. OLL is like my second home and I have grown very fond of the old and new teachers at the school. They trust me with helping their students and making sure that the teachers understand the problems of students because sometimes I am asked to help with the conflicts at the school since I have also gained the trust of the students. Volunteering my time has taught me leadership skills and interactive skills with adults. Not only at OLL do I speak highly of the school but at MCC I have learned that if I see someone new to the campus that it is my job as a student to talk highly of both schools and the Catholic education system....

...a change. Some young adults may even go on a mission trip and go help where tragic things happen to states and help people build from the bottom up. There are also options like going on a family trip to a part of the country that really got destroyed, is very poor, or has nothing to live in and go help build them up with your good spirits and kindness. That I feel that help would make many people happy and it’s a call from god because he wants us to help the community and others as he did. You can always make something good if you put your mind, body, and spirit to it and always look at the positive sides of everything. If everything is always negative then why ever be positive about something? When Therese found out her dad was sick she knew that she could look and lean on one person; God. She knew he would help her throughout it all. What ended up happening was that Therese strived for child like faith from god when her dad was sick. I feel Therese really needed people to give her attention, talk to her, and show her she is strong and could get through it. God became a “fatherly figure” to her, and I think that is a really heart warming thing. Sometimes people strive for that attention for some people that they act childish, and that can be essential to your faith. Chapter 4: A Mother At Heart The material spirit in me looks like I am called to give to others. I feel that doing exactly what god did to us by giving to others, everyone should do. I love community service...
