It gave an opportunity for those affected by loss to gain a sense of closure. The song choice “Life is changed, not ended” fit wholly into the presentation. By the time the pilgrims reached Massachusetts they found only one living Indian named Squanto there, who had been kidnapped by Europeans over a decade before. He was taken to England, taught English, and had been attempted to be sold into slavery by the Spanish. He survived slavery in England and returned to...

Turkey For Thanksgiving Research Paper

...When you eat a turkey for thanksgiving do you ever think how bad and poorly treated that turkey was and how it can make you sick. Turkey can be bad for you and can make you sick which can lead to an unhealthy life. It’s not only bad for you but it is also bad for the turkey because many people get a turkey for thanksgiving each year and 46 million turkeys around the United States are killed just so we could eat them. My first reason is that eating turkey can give you diseases and can possibly kill you. ...Cajun Thanksgiving There's Thanksgiving, and then there's a Cajun Thanksgiving, which means a table spread of almost ludicrous proportions - at least two meats, not necessarily including generous chunks of boudin and andouille; seafood gumbo; sweet and white potatoes; dirty rice; macaroni and cheese; cornbread; Spinach Madeleine; green beans; something with eggplant; pies and cakes; and coffee and tea and maybe a little rum punch to launch the meal. Yes, like the Pilgrims, Acadians, as they were known before the British drove them out of Nova Scotia's Acadian province and into Louisiana swamps, are annually thankful for their survival, and the bounty nature provided them in their new Low Country home. They had rice, wild turkeys, crawfish, shrimp and alligator, and they found...
