... CO2 and Ar, by the method of Adiabatic Expansion ABSTRACT The heat capacity ratios [Cp/Cv] of Nitrogen, Carbon Dioxide and Argon were obtained by the method of adiabatic reversible expansion. Four studies were conducted for each gas using an 18.0 L carboy and phthalate manometer at 297K. The initial and final pressures were obtained and used to calculate the experimental heat capacity ratios. Based on the results, Argon has an experimental heat capacity ratio of 1.66 and a Cv value of 1.56, which agrees with the theoretical Cp/Cv and Cv values obtained from the classical equipartition theorem. Based on the results, the diatomic molecule, N2 and triatomic molecule, CO2 have heat capacity ratios of 1.45 and 1.35, respectively. The experimental values for N2 are ...

...400 – 002 February 25, 2014 Essay 2 CVS Caremark Steven Graham 1834-5319 Background and Introduction of CVS Caremark Decision On February 5th CVS Caremark announced that they would cease the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products in its stores. This measure is scheduled to begin by October 1, 2014. Once this action is taken, CVS Caremark will be the first national pharmacy chain to drop the sale of tobacco products. The President and CEO of CVS Caremark, Larry Merlo, stated the following, "Ending the sale of cigarettes and tobacco products at CVS/pharmacy is the right thing for us to do for our customers and our company to help people on their path to better health." Tobacco sales represent $2 billion in annual revenue for CVS Caremark. This is causing many to question if this is a good move for CVS Caremark. Analyzing this Decision with Respect to Key Stakeholders It seems crucial to analyze the aforementioned decision with respect to three key stakeholders. The stakeholders that will be analyzed are CVS Caremark employees, shareholders, and customers. This is not an exhaustive list of stakeholders, but it represents fundamental primary stakeholders. Employees of CVS Caremark have a significant stake in the company’s decision to drop the sale of tobacco products. Some employees may fear the significant profit loss that this decision represents. This fear would likely be compounded by the lack of details that CVS Caremark has provided on how they will...

...What is a CV? Curriculum Vitae: an outline of a person's educational and professional history, usually prepared for job application. Another name for a CV is a résumé. A CV is the most flexible and convenient way to make applications. It conveys your personal details in the way that presents you in the best possible light. A CV is a marketing document in which you are marketing something: yourself! You need to "sell" your skills, abilities, qualifications and experience to employers. It can be used to make multiple applications to employers in a specific career area. For this reason, many large graduate recruiters will not accept CVs and instead use their own application form. FACT: Often selectors read CVs outside working hours. They may have a pile of 50 CVs from which to select five interviewees. It's evening and they would rather be in the pub with friends. If your CV is hard work to read: unclear, badly laid out and containing irrelevant information, they will just just move on to the next CV. Treat the selector like a child eating a meal. Chop your CV up into easily digestible morsels (bullets, short paragraphs and note form) and give it a clear logical layout, with just the relevant information to make it easy for the selector to read. If you do this, you will have a much greater chance of interview. An application form is designed to bring out the essential information and personal qualities that the employer requires and does not allow you to gloss over your...

...Overview Founded in 1963 by Stanley Goldstein, Sid Goldstein, and Mark Steven in Lowell, Massachusetts, Consumer Value Store (CVS), has quickly grown to be the second largest pharmacy and convenience store with over 7,600 pharmacies and drugstores nationwide. Since the beginning, CVS has always strived to be the largest retail pharmacy-which led to the development of their growth strategy. Furthermore, CVS continually strives to “reinvent” the pharmacy and make healthy living a fundamental part of their customers’ lives. (Biesada, 2014) Initially, these strategies were influenced by the company’s mission statement and purpose. According to the CVS website, the company’s mission is to “provide expert care and innovative solutions in pharmacy and health care that are effective and easy for our customers” (CVS caremark corporation: History, 2014). Clearly, CVS is in business to provide expert care, although it would appear that not all of their individual pharmacists share the same feelings. Based on research conducted, it would appear that there is a general lack of customer service training as some pharmacists have allegedly been behaving rudely towards customers. Throughout the course of this initiative, we will be discussing the gaps that have been found and we will develop a training program that we hope will help alleviate these problems and allow CVS to fully realize their mission. ...Instructions for filling in the Europass CV Before you start: Five basic principles for a good CV 1. Concentrate on the essentials • Employers generally spend less than one minute reading a CV before deciding to reject it, or to shortlist it for detailed consideration. If you fail to make the right impact, you missed your chance. • If applying for an advertised vacancy, always ensure that you comply with any application process entirely. The vacancy notice might specify: how to apply (CV, application form, online application), the length and/or format of the CV, whether a covering letter is required, etc. • Be brief: two A4 pages are usually more than enough, irrespective of your education or experience. Do not exceed three pages. If you hold a degree, include your secondary school qualifications only if relevant to the job in question. • Is your work experience limited? Describe your education and training first; highlight volunteering activities and placements or traineeships. 2. Be clear and concise • Use short sentences. Avoid clichés. Concentrate on the relevant aspects of your training and work experience. • Give specific examples. Quantify your achievements. • Update your CV as your experience develops. Don’t hesitate to remove old information if it does not add value for the position. 3. Always adapt your CV to suit the post you are applying for • Highlight your strengths according to the needs of the employer and focus on the skills that match...

(2014) “CVS Caremark, America's second-largest drugstore chain, is quitting selling tobacco products at its more than 7,600 U.S. drugstores as it focuses more on providing health care. The Massachusetts-based company said Wednesday that it will phase out cigarettes, cigars, and chewing tobacco by Oct. 1, a move that will cost about $2 billion in annual revenue but won't affect its 2014earnings forecast. CVS Caremark leaders say removing tobacco will help them grow the company's business of working with doctors, hospitals and other care providers to improve customers' health.” Moreover, as of February 2015 CVS sales increased according to Forbes – “CVS, which stopped selling cigarettes and related products in September, previously generated an estimated $2 billion in annual tobacco sales. However, sales in the pharmacy segment alone in the fourth quarter jumped 21.7 percent to $24 billion buoyed by an early flu season with an ineffective vaccine that caused flu victims to search CVS for other treatment options. CVS also saw increased paying customers under the Affordable Care Act.” As the population age’s smokers and non-smokers need convince and places to seek a medical professional.
