The Ancient Egyptian Government valued their gods and brought order to their civilization using their religion and the government itself. This system that the Ancient Egyptians used is what we now call a theocratic monarchy. Firstly, how does this policy work? A theocratic monarchy is a government system where the king rules by the command of the gods, in this case, the king being the Pharaoh. Religion and the government were woven tightly together for the Ancient Egyptians, and they believed that the Pharaoh was the representative of the gods, and at one point in time, was also believed as a god in human form. Since they believed that the Pharaoh had some kind of bond with the gods, they gave him, or even her, numerous responsibilities. Secondly, the social hierarchy of Ancient Egypt brought stability to their civilization because of how each level of the social hierarchy worked together. First of all, both civilizations have a social hierarchy that has extensive variations in rights between every level. For instance, both have slaves at the very base of their pyramids and the contrast amongst the next level and slaves is considerably broad. The next level of the social pyramid in both scenarios was viewed more as citizens than those at the root of the hierarchy. Secondly, a difference between these two systems is that in Ancient Greece, women had no rights, however, in Ancient Egypt, women had equal rights as men by law.
