Pumphouse Bar & Grill

...The Pumphouse Bar & Grill Session 4 – Final Observation Paper Cheryl Barthuly ENG102 English Composition October 19, 2011 Professor Bennett The Pumphouse Bar & Grill The Pumphouse Bar & Grill came very highly recommended, and I was anxious to see what makes this pub so popular. A friend suggested the pub as a meeting place for lunch but warned it can get busy as it is in the heart of Bellevue’s business center. From the outside, the building is white and plain looking, blending into the surrounding scenery with no indication of its true character. The building is comprised of two restaurants a pub, which is located on the west side, and a Chinese restaurant located on the east side. It appears tiny in size, as does the parking area. There is beautiful green ivy intertwined on white lattice leading up to the front of the building. This ivy wall conceals a small, enclosed outside seating area for when the weather is nice. I then round the corner and a big, bright red door is waiting to welcome all who enter. The atmosphere inside is a drastic contrast to the outside. The walls vibrate with life! There is a line waiting just inside the door and the place is completely packed. There is so much chatter. One cannot detect a single conversation from another as they all blend as one massive, noisy conversation. As I entered, a polite young woman explained it would be a moment before a table is ready. The interior is huge, which is very deceiving...

The Bar Graph

...The Statistical Bar Graph Statistical graphs, charts, and tables are in almost every type of newspaper or journals that are published today. The illustrations are used to make the data easier to understand and read. Although, at times, these graphs, tables, or charts can be confusing. Many types of graphs and charts are used, such as bar graphs, dot plots, pie charts, histograms, and line charts just to name a few. The simplest of these is the bar graph. The bar graph is commonly used for qualitative data and compare the amounts or frequency of occurrence of different characteristics. The display in a bar graph allows a person to compare groups of data and make generalizations about data quickly. Since bar graphs are used to graph frequencies, the height of the bar is important. The longer bar represents a higher frequency. Other areas of interest on the graph are the frequency axis and the axes scale. The frequency axis measures the frequency or amount of the different data, and the axes scale measures the range of values being presented along the frequency axis. In this paper, the bar graph will be addressed using a graph from a study that was found on the internet site theragblog.blogspot.com from an article Health Care Reform: ‘This Won’t Hurt a Bit’ (2010). The bar graph shows the main cause of death is the lack of health insurance, and the article states that health care reform could possibly have an effect on this since everyone would be required to have...

Bar Marco Research Paper

...Bar Marco is in the Strip District neighborhood of The Steel City. It’s a product of gentrification, or “the hipsterfication of Pittsburgh” as I like to call it. The building which was once a fire house stands alone a few blocks before flea markets reminiscent of New York City. The holes brave men used to down are covered by Renaissance-style tiles. My mother and I are greeted by a person present in all restaurants in the area which opened this decade: a dark-haired man with a beard wearing a shirt with the logo of a local sports team. The interior designer must have experience with college dorms because the bar is furnished with books and empty bottles with a low-maintenance plant to complete the look. On the opposite wall is modern art on...

Chinese Bar Exam Materials

Personal Narrative-A Day At The Grab N-Drink Bar

...A tall, slightly tanned man sat behind the counter. His short black hair barely reached his ears and he swiped his bangs out of his face. There was a piercing on his right ear. Aiden’s moss green eyes switch from the television in front of him to the client's drinking their fill. It was another slow day at the Grab n’ Drink Bar. The after work crowd has simmered down except for a few loyal customers who had no where better to be. His attention turned back up at the television. Bars

...Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS) Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales(BARS) BARS refers to Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales. It was developed by Smith and Kendall to provide a better method of rating employees. It differs from "standard" rating scales in one central respect, in that it focuses on behaviors that are determined to be important for completing a job task or doing the job properly, rather than looking at more general employee characteristics (e.g. personality, vague work habits). Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS) are designed to bring the benefits of both qualitative and quantitative data to the employee appraisal process. BARS compare an individual’s performance against specific examples of behavior that are anchored to numerical ratings. For example, a level four rating for a nurse may require them to show sympathy to patients while a level six rating may require them to show higher levels of empathy and ensure this comes across in all dealings with the patient. There are different ways in effectively structuring a BARS system. They are 1. Identification of Critical Incidents: This step involves supervisors and other in authority identifying specific incidents of effective and unsatisfactory behavior. These incidents should be related to the job performance. 2. Selection of performance dimensions: These incidents are further dissected into performance dimensions. An average of 5 to 7 performance dimensions is ideal. This classification...

In this area there is a city block that has two levels of bars and restaurants and an outdoor patio with a giant big screen television outside for everyone to watch major events. This place is called the rail yard since it was built right where the train station used to be many years ago. At the rail yard people have their choice of choosing a bar to enjoy, getting a drink outside and watch an exciting sporting event on the giant screen or do both. At the very top of the corner in the rail yard there is a bar called Vega. ...

The plaintiff, Deborah White, is requesting that the court denies the defendant’s request for summary judgment. The plaintiff claims to have sufficient evidence which will prove bartender John Daniels did see visible signs of intoxication from Edward Hart. Edward Hart had consumed 11 drinks within a two hour span while at the Tavern. We have a favorite hotel where we enjoy spending the weekends away. We are there so often the staff knows us by name. The property is a Wyndham historic hotel that has been restored to its former glory. The restaurant, The Dancing Goat, serves elegant meals in a cozy atmosphere and the piano bar offers a late night opportunity for dancing and romance.
