Products of Apple are like beautiful crystal prisons. With the leadership of Steve Jobs who is a manager and entrepreneur, the company has seen great achievement in their products through quality and innovations. Their devices consist of a wide range of restrictions that are imposed by the hardware, operating system and Apple contracts with carriers and developers. This makes their product to be of quality and more durable. Their product exhibits good performance compared to their competitors and has a unique advantage of exhibiting behavior. Apple maintains a business philosophy that emphasizing differentiated products, design with beauty, inspiration for innovation, and exceptional consumer experiences.
Apple produces quality products which include electronics, computers and smart phones that give it power and advantage to compete with other companies. It reflects its corporate brand across these products and repeatedly demonstrates its innovations, design and imagination. Different from other companies, the company does not involve in inventing cheap products. They consistently maintain the quality production and this has earned the company a great advantage for the customer to purchase their products (Evans 56). Apple has never been a follower of the general trend in its field, but a leader in manufacture differentiated products. For instance despite the fact that rivalries such as Nokia and Samsung produce smartphones with large touch screens, Apple insists on maintaining its iPhone’s screen size and preventing iPhone to be ordinary. Their smartphones are always fixed with original batteries, and are designed in solid black or white with edgeless shape, which now becomes a signature of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Moreover the price of their product is also maintained low and this gives the customers the desire to demand Apple products.

Venus De Milo Research Paper

...Greek goddess of love and beauty. Her name, Venus, comes from the Roman name for Aphrodite, and Milos is the Greek island where she was discovered in the 1800’s. She is one of the best-known sculptures from ancient Greece having been created during the Hellenistic period, ca.150–50 BCE. During the Classical period, the art and culture from 480 and 323 BCE, there was a drastic advancement in art. In the course of this time the artwork, especially sculptures, became more natural, realistic, and human-like. Though made from marble and other unyielding materials, the artists managed to make their work look as though they were true humans with soft flesh that could breathe. Praxiteles was a famous sculptor from this time that had this amazing ability. He sculpted the first nude statue of a goddess, Aphrodite of Knidos. This trend of creating realistic statues has continued for centuries. During the Hellenistic period, the period directly after the Classical, ca. 323 BCE, and 30 BCE, there was a great demand for Classical Greek sculptures, copies, or artwork created in a similar style. Artists of this time attempted...

Beauty and Attraction

...The subjects of attraction and beauty are topics I have almost always found to be very curious and intriguing, so I was very excited to learn about them in this chapter. Before reading this chapter, I questioned whether our attraction to physical beauty is a disposition we are born with or if it is something that we become more responsive to due to the way our society promotes and idolizes it. I also wonder why people become so obsessed with this idea of physical beauty that they are willing to take extreme measures to obtain it. In this chapter, I was very surprised to learn that our attraction to beauty is not entirely the result of the culture we are raised in, but it is also due to our human nature. A study described in this chapter found that infants (too young to have been affected by culture’s idea of beauty)spent more time staring at attractive faces versus unattractive faces (p. 347).This supports the idea that we are born to favor physical beauty. But how do we classify what is beautiful? I think the idea, proposed by Judith Langlois and Lori Roggman, makes a lot of sense. They proposed that people tend to find “averaged” faces as attractive because they are more prototypical and familiar (p. 347). This made sense to me because in my introductory to psychology class, we learned that when people are asked to imagine an apple, they picture a red, shiny, flawless apple. We do this because it’s easier for our brain to take a shortcut by imagining an average of all...

Myths and Us

...what the gods meant to people has evolved as time went on and this can be clearly seen in the representation of the myths in modern life. Many aspects of Ancient Greek myths are constantly being reflected in the ideals of today's society ranging from beauty/love, marketing, and in competition. Aphrodite was the great Olympian goddess of beauty, love, pleasure and procreation. Aphrodite was created from the sea when the Titan Cronos slew his father, the major Titan Ouranos, and threw his genitals into the sea. Aphrodite was the most attractive goddess of Mount Olympus. She was depicted as a beautiful woman usually accompanied by the winged god Eros, or as we know him more popular as Cupid. Aphrodite loved and was loved by many gods and mortals. In almost all her stories that involve her, have Aphrodite interfere with making mortals fall in love with other mortals. Aphrodite can be said to have caused the Trojan War. When given the opportunity to have the golden apple for the “fairest of them all”, Aphrodite sized Paris up and decided he would be more impressed with the guaranteed love of the most beautiful woman in the world. This was Helen, who happened to be married to the king of Sparta. Paris promptly awarded the golden apple to...

Aphrodite: The Well-Known Greek Goddess Of Love

...Aphrodite is the well known goddess of love, beauty and procreation. She is identified with the planet Venus (Greek Goddess Aphrodite). In the picture above, she is shown with her son, Eros; like in most of his artwork, he is in the sky holding his bow and arrow. There are numerous myths telling of her proclaiming love and beauty. Aphrodite is not only the most powerful above both mortals and immortals, but she also represents the love between the two. According to Homer's Iliad, Aphrodite was the daughter of Zeus, god of the sky and Olympian of all the gods. Her mother, Dione, was known as the mother of the Roman goddess of love (By Dione He [Zeus] Had Aphrodite). However, in Myths Encyclopedia, it is said that Aphrodite was, “Born from the foam of the sea”. This myth is believed by many, because her name, Aphrodite or Aphros, is the Greek word which means foam. As oddly as it seems, legends say that Titan Cronus castrated Uranus, his father, throwing his genitals into...

Stereotypes In Disney Princess Movies

...Young girls view the Disney princesses as role models but how the princesses are animated make for some of the worst influences. The way animators shape the princesses bodies with tiny waists, big hips and tall figures are impossible for a normal human to obtain and this is the person young girls want to look exactly like. The princesses are teaching girls that beauty is the best quality, when their best quality should be something about them as a person and on the inside. Beauty should never dictate if one is going to marry their true love or not, become royalty, or even live happily ever after. Girls should never be the only ones doing the domestic job in the household, it is time that the world truly starts creating equality between the genders. Young girls should thrive to be strong and powerful, not naive and insecure, like the Disney princesses. Society should stop teaching girls that the world is black and white and start showing them to go on their own path by being a leader not a...

Gender Stereotypes

...director is a male, he illustrates the movie in a different and altered version of Sarah’s novel. The characters analyzed are Nola, Alex, Nancy and Deb. The genre of this movie revolves around comedy, drama and romance. The main character Nola is a magazine editor who is neglected due to her being overweight. Nola is shy and concededly writes a book but authors it as Belinda Apple, although as it being her alter-ego. Nola creates a Cinderella pact with her friends for their journey to health. The hidden identity of Belinda Apple comes into question and Nola is pressure into accepting what “beauty” in the modern world comes to believe. I’ve chosen this movie because of its quality to show the ability of how society affects gender roles particularly women, in the way they present themselves to how they should act. It also portrays hegemonic feminism and the actual reality of it. The movie ends in way that reflects upon the male character which proves the reality of male dominancy that is normalized in our world but yet ignored. The characters are interesting because of their struggles to acknowledge beauty. In this essay I tend to...

Snow White Comparison Essay

...Snow White Fairy Tale Comparison The story of young girl forced to flee from her home due to the jealously of her step-mother has been told in many languages in a variety of ways since its first publication by the Brothers Grimm in 1812. Storytellers capture their audiences by relating the common man’s plight to that of Snow White. To gain a greater understanding of this story, it is best to examine three versions that have been told at significantly different times within society. The original story “Little Snow-White” by the Brothers Grimm, Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, and Disney’s “Mirror Mirror” serve as inspiration when discussing the story, language, art direction, heroines, heroes, conflict and resolution with them. As each new adaptation of the story Snow White is told, many individuals will reference the Walt Disney version as fact over the original story by the Brothers Grimm. Two hundred years have passed and the story of Snow White has kept true to its original telling with only minor changes that have been implemented only as a way to appeal to the intended audiences at the time. The physical description of Snow White, our heroine, has always remained close to the original, “a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as ebony wood” (Taylor, 1884). With Walt Disney being a family oriented individual he made only a minor change to her description, "lips red as a rose, hair black as ebony, and skin white as snow" (Snow White and the...
