...P1 Big Bang This theory tells us our universe began from tiny point. Due to explosion (the big bang) the universe stated to expand in blink of eye. Scientist believes that is still expanding. The big bang occurred 13.7 billion years ago. There are general pattern to follow for every theory to be true. Introduction- all matter in the universe was concentrated in one point. Research – they scientist discovered that the universe is still continues to expand, they do this by looking at few experiments such as droplet or red shift. Hypothesis – there are many hypothesis related to this theory for example, asking whether the universe is still expanding. Hypothesis can come in vary ways like questions and for this case is question and proving...

...Extraterrestrials in the Universe No one has seen the element ununoctium, but it does not indicate that it does not exist; in fact it is an actual synthetic element that has yet to survive for more than a thousandth of a second. All that is needed are scientists who can stabilize the element to survive longer. The same goes for extraterrestrials. Just because no one has found them, it does not prove they do not exist. Extraterrestrials are any form of life that does not originate, or did not originate from Earth. When people think of aliens, they imagine creatures like Megamind, E.T., and many others that they have seen on television or read about in fiction books. What people really forget is that life can be as simple as an individual cell, or a microbe; so when asked, without thinking, many people say they do not believe in the possibility of life elsewhere. Over the years, scientists have dedicated a significant amount of their life looking for any type of evidence. There is a great possibility of extraterrestrial life existing on other planets as is evidenced by the history of the universe, the extant research, and the expanse of the universe. The past of the universe substantiates the possibility of aliens living on other worlds. In order to find the proof of life, the scientists have intensely studied planet Mars. About 16 million years ago, the collision of an asteroid with Mars blasted martian rocks in space; Earth’s gravity attracted one of these rocks and it landed in...

...Radiation (CBR) in 1965, the Red-Shift of ever-distant galaxies and the abundance of helium and hydrogen in the universe allows the Big Bang theory to be the most widely accepted explanation for the origin of our universe as opposed to alternative theories like The Steady-State Theory. In 1965, astronomers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson were testing their highly sensitive microwave receiver and antenna at Bell Telephone Labs, through mere accident, the two scientists uncovered the leftover light from The Big Bang. This “fingerprint” of the Big Bang is referred to as Cosmic Background Radiation. As the universe inflated and expanded in size after approximately 380 000 years, it cooled down enough to allow both protons and electrons to merge. The lack of unused electrons gave photons the freedom to travel in all directions amongst the universe. The CBR is made up of these photons that were released during this time and that were detected by Penzias’ and Robert Wilson’s antenna thus confirming scientists’ predictions...

...Space Space is a big place , some scientists believe that it is neverending. There are many things that make up space from tiny specs of dust, to huge gigantic galaxies and solar systems. Solar systems is what makes up most of space, there are so many structures to the solar system. These structures consist of planets, gasses, and energy. THe one thing that holds all of this matter is a star in the middle of the solar system. These stars have a very large gravitational pull that holds everything in place, planets also have a gravitational pull but it's not as powerful as the sun's gravitational pull, which makes it so that the planets do not float away but also do not come crashing into the sun. Stars are immense balls of gas that produce...

...many people, science is something to be dreaded – boring math problems and pointless information. Science, however, plays an important part in the world around us. Not only does science rule every part of the human life, from the inner workings of the body to DNA, but it also explains the world that we live in. Even though, many times, science is looked at as an annoying extension of math and, therefore, something to be despised, understanding it can be extremely helpful in understanding our own lives. Science allows us to understand and answer the big questions that cause many people to turn to religion and their beliefs. Science is a way of understanding the world through examination and testing. It can be defined “as the process of observing and questioning the world around us. We also sometimes call the things that we learn through experimentation science” (Red Orbit). As such, science is the process of studying and testing theories to create a hypothesis. It is a very broad subject matter and encompasses many branches, most ending with the –ology suffix, meaning the study of. Biology, for example, is the study of the life where Geology is the study of the earth. People that study biology and geology are scientists because they follow the scientific method, “the most powerful method ever invented by humans to obtain relevant and reliable knowledge about nature. In fact, it is really the only method we have for discovering reliable knowledge – In other words, knowledge that...

...Section One, Part One Molecular clouds(Very large clouds of gas and dust tens of times larger than our solar system) run amuck in space. Inside, larger particles of dust attract smaller ones, because they have a stronger gravitational pull. These larger particles continued to gain mass. As one solid mass, now known as a protostar, is around 10 to 20 Kelvins. To become a star, the protostar must reach 15,000,000°. Until the mass reaches 15,000,000°, it will remain a protostar. Section One, Part Two Most of the stars life is controlled by nuclear fusion. When a star reaches the perfect temperature of 15,000,000° Kelvin, it forms hydrogen. The star continues to heat up. Hydrogen molecules bash and form together to create helium with an atomic...

...finally provide an in-depth analysis and discussion of the colours featured in the graphic design based on various colour theories. (ByFriday Design Studio, 2012) This graphic design is created by ByFriday Design Studio in 2012. Each petal has distinctive colours to consist of a flower. Basically, nine colours are in the design – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple, white and black. 310002664 Yu Jeong Hyeon (ByFriday Design Studio, 2012) (Pantone Colors, 2012) Using Pantone colour system, 15 different colours are identified in the graphic design. The colours used in the graphic design can be identified as two categories of colour – 310002664 Yu Jeong Hyeon conventional and formula colours. Except black, every colour is formula colour which means that each colour seems to be mixed with at least two or more colours. This design does not have substance and spectral profile colours because the colours used in the design are not derived from natural source and the form of light-waves. In terms of the attributes of colour, it is difficult to say that the design has only one hue but apparently it consist of big four hues – blue, red, yellow and purple. Blue - Red - Yellow - Purple (Pantone colors, 2012) While its chromaticity of four hues is from moderate to high, its tone is low thoroughly. Under Gastalt theories, three Gastalt’s laws can be found in the design – law of Good figure, law of similarity and law of figure-ground (Tuck...

...Elastic (Gravitational) potential Nuclear Sound Energy is never created or destroyed! Energy is transferred from one form to another form. Not all of the energy transferred by a device is useful energy. Potential energy is stored energy. All energy will eventually spread out to the surroundings as heat. Sample question 1 Sankey diagrams and efficiency Sample sankey diagram for a light bulb Sankey diagrams are ways of representing the different energy transformations that take place in different electrical devices. The start of the sankey diagram shows the total energy going into the device. The diagram then splits off into different sized arrows to represent the other energy transfers that take place, the bigger the arrow the larger the energy. The energy entering the device must equal the energy leaving the device. To know how good a device is at transferring energy you need to be able to calculate the efficiency. To do that you need to use the following equation (which will be given in the exam) OR So for the above example the answer would be Efficiency= 10100=0.1 The closer the efficiency is to 1 the more useful energy the device is transferring. So for the light bulb example we got an efficiency of 0.1, so the light bulb isn’t very good and transferring useful energy. Sample question 2 Kinetic theory Most matter or substances can be classed as being solids, liquids or gases. Solids: They have the least amount of energy...

...Interpretation and Bridging Gaps In his approach to Reader-Response criticism, Wolfgang Iser stands between subjectivity and objectivity. For him, literary texts do not have one final meaning; nor are they open to as many meanings as there are readers. Iser’s two major books, The Implied Reader (1974) and The Act of Reading (1978), have continued to be sold and reprinted; he has also published an abundance of more recent articles. Iser distinguishes literary texts from non-literary ones and presents us with a phenomenology of reading that has significant implications for literary interpretation. He draws a distinction between literature and non-literature in the book titled: The Act of Reading: A Theory of Aesthetic Response and says: “Literary texts do not contain a referential meaning; if they did, they would not be literature.” Iser’s primary concern is the relationship between the text and its readers. According to Iser, the literary text has a ‘potential’, and ‘the structure of the text allows for different ways’ of fulfilling its ‘potential’. (qtd. The Act of Reading, 13) I believe that to achieve this effect, the literary text conceals as it reveals. The presence of holes or gaps in the text invites the reader to fill in the gaps, but the reader’s activity is guided and molded by that what is revealed. Iser’s blanks come with his points of suspended connectability between segments of the text. (qtd. The Act of Reading, 13) He focuses on the role of the reader...

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to describe the internationalization process of Red Bull; how Red Bull created, sustained and developed? Method: We mainly use secondary data and the qualitative data. Qualitative data in the form of interview questions through e-mailing. But we also use quantitative method based on documental research from books and internet. Conclusion: Red Bull does not follow the standard pattern of establishment chain presented in the Uppsala model. Its establishment chain is composed of three stages: licensing ,wholly owned sales subsidiaries and jointed venture. Red Bull has developed strong market within the beverage industry network and strong bonds with its external suppliers. The expansion decisions of Red Bull have been influenced...

In cosmology the most fundamental question we can ask is: Does our universe have intelligible regularities that we can understand—is it ordered? This question lies at the heart of the scientific revolution beginning in the sixteenth century...

...the Universe, the comprehension of the fundalmental cosmology, including emphasis on the Big Bang Theory and the Milky Way, will be examined and discussed. First, what is Cosmology? Well, the term Cosmology refers "to the study of the cosmos" (Wheeler, 1992). Simple enough, but Cosmology also encompases the studies and the relation of the studies amongst the preception of the universe by present day societies. Although, mankind has surpassed the previous knowledge of the cosmos from anicent civilizations, the roots of Cosmology still play a vital role in modern Cosmology. In the beginning, ancient cultures were just as curious about the universe; these cultures would lay the foundation to modern Cosmology using the best technology available at the time, observation. From the ancient observations, civilizations, such as the Greek and European medievals, concluded that the Earth was the center of the universe and developed a geocentri model to represent this belief. Up until the sixteenth century, this idea that modeled the Universe was accepted. However, the work of Nicholas Copernicus would lead to a revolutionary idea a heliocentric universe, a universe with the Sun at the center of the cosmic system. Although, Copernicus presented the idea of a heliocentri universe to the world, many were skeptical to turn away from the geocentri model until someone produces evidence of this theory. This someone turned out to be Galileo Galilei. Using an instrument considered "new...

...Red Sox Organization When you hear someone talking about the Boston Red Sox, you often think of the baseball team or the players, but we forget that they are an organization. Like any organization, the Red Sox has its own organizational behavior that influences the performance and commitment of its employees. Besides the team manager and the occasional interviews with the owners, most people don’t realize that the Red Sox organization consists of hundreds of managers and employees at all different levels. From the owners to the ball boys, the organization behavior is a product of the attitudes and behaviors of these individuals and groups. Understanding why these individuals act the way they do is essential to managing the Red Sox organization effectively. To better understand what makes the Red Sox so valuable to its fans we must look at it from a resource-based view (pg. 9). As an employee at Fenway Park, I can tell you that Fenway Park is one of, if not, the most valued inimitable resources the Red Sox owns (pg. 10). Another resource is its history of players, such as Jason Varitek, who spent his entire 15 years in the MLB with the Red Sox. There is also a socially complex resource the Red Sox have that attracts fans worldwide that has been given the name Red Sox Nation (pg.10). Red Sox management has always had a keen eye for choosing well performing and committed players, non-more committed than Curt Schilling. Famous for his bloody sock, Schilling had torn his tendons...
