Path 5 and 6 will have to be crashed to meet the wedding date of April 22. 3. What is the minimum cost plan that meets the April 22 date? For path 6, we would reduce the time to Receive the Invitations to 5 days (cost $35) and hire help to Address Invitations to reduce this time to 2 days (cost $50). ...obstacle is not settling on the first idea that comes to mind and to try harder to come up with something different. Some may think their first thought is also the best result, but you should challenge yourself to think past your first thought to chime into your creative nature. A personal challenge for me was going back to school. I had to think of all the different obstacles going back to school would pose on my normal day to day routine. Returning to school would interfere with my work schedule, not having time to cook dinner, and causing conflict with my spare time. Then, I realized that there are other ways to attend school and not just going to a standard university campus. I weighed my options by writing out all of the advantages and disadvantages of going to a school online and going to a campus. This included the different programs...

...The first wedding that I planned was in no way a traditional wedding. Ten eager little girls decorated the printed invitations with sequins, buttons, and markers. The same energetic hands prepared the wedding feast, consisting of bagged lunches, blintz souffle, and of course a layer cake. On the big day I looked around with excitement. Again, I noticed something odd about this wedding. All the participants and guests appeared about four feet high. The "groom" had long hair pinned up with brown lines on her face (was that supposed to be a beard?) The wedding location, a back yard with a swing set and a wading pool, seemed far from romantic. This wedding however was not supposed to be one of those types of weddings. As I pressed the "PLAY" button on the tape recorder I knew that ten 4-6-year-old girls cared deeply about this wedding. Despite the absence of a reason for celebration, I pulled all the girls into the circle and we started dancing and clapping to the music. The energy that went into the preparation on previous days could finally be appreciated. My campers and I not only celebrated the accomplishment of the mock wedding, we celebrated the fun and excitement we experienced for the first three weeks in Camp Glitter Girls. I had begun preparing for Camp Glitter Girls over four months before by budgeting, sending out fliers, confirming registration and finally making sure that every camper would have the time of her life. As I danced, I celebrated the times I almost lost...

...Junior started Stanford that following October, a beautiful campus left him speechless and a magnificent girl took his breath. Daisy was her name, and she was the human personification of perfection. Her blond hair that curled by her ears, her glowing skin, her stellar blue eyes, and her luminescent smile all made her shine as if a drop of sunlight fell onto the Earth. When her rosy lips stopped smiling long enough to form words, she revealed a beautiful warm voice and an intelligent humor. It simply wasn’t possible to not smile while being around her. She was sunshine, happiness, and a thief. The first time Junior saw her, she stole his heart. He would dream of dancing under sparkling stars. She would dream of singing in the sunset. Junior wrote to his father speaking of a gorgeous woman with golden hair and sapphire eyes who spoke of distant stars and complicated mathematics. Senior could see the amount of love Junior felt for the starry woman in each sentence. “If the sun disappeared, I would see no difference as Daisy lights up my world like nothing and no one else. I proposed and she said yes. We’ll be getting married!” the letter read. If he loves her so much, she must be...

...cost has been rising as fast as three times which has caused students to take much more loan than they could handle to pay back on time. First, the major effect of the rising education tuition is financial security of the students. A large number of Americans suffer from the skyrocketing college tuition, but that doesn’t hold them back from pursuing their degree. The cost of education at a community college has risen gradually, and private or elite school is far out of many students price range. At a community college, students are more comfortable with the tuition because it is much lower than a four year college or private school. Either full time or part time, students can strengthen their financial need by working on the campus or outside the campus while they have the opportunity. For most middle class Americans, community college is a best school to start higher education because it can help them to save thousands of dollars. Students can take as many basic courses as they need to fill their credits requirement for the first two year of their study. After finishing community college, students may choose to continue their study at a four year college or an expensive traditional private school. The declining economy is one of the factors that motivate students to continue their study at those four year colleges or Universities in the belief of getting a high paying job or a favorable employment. Expensive college cost may not affect the number of students going to school...

...Unit 1 Lecture This unit explores the general business environment, in the Prologue, and the reason for the existence of managerial accounting in Chapter 1. Managers are in need of information. Managerial accounting is the vehicle that satisfies that need. Without reasonable, valid, timely information companies will always be at a disadvantage when it comes to competing in the marketplace. Managers use the provided information to carry out three major activities: planning, directing and motivating, and controlling Planning involves the identification of alternative business plans. The plans that are most beneficial to the company should be reviewed and implemented if feasible. The implementation process involves budgets. Budgets are prepared under the direction of a controller, a manager in charge of the accounting department. Typically, budgets are prepared annually. We will learn more about budgets in chapter 7. Besides analyzing business alternatives managers must direct and motivate employees. As we know, unhappy, unguided employees can be detrimental to a business. I have worked for companies where one employee would stifle other employees to the point where he had to be fired. Productivity is paramount to profitability. In addition to managing personnel, managerial must keep the company running in an orderly fashion by analyzing daily sales reports, among other reports, to ensure there are no bottlenecks in production, falling sales within certain product groups...

...s disturbing and brutal than it actually is. But rape is rape: the act of male or female taking sexual control or dominance over a nonwilling participant. It does not matter whether or not people feels comfortable discussing the topic of rape. Uncomfortability does not make a problem disappear. It is possible that rape culture is ignored because no one knows a permanent solution for it. But not talking about it will not fix it. An environment where rape culture prevails is on college campuses. 1 in every 4 college students admit to being raped or sexually assaulted on campus, this number fails to include the thousands of rape victims whose stories are never heard. Rape culture prevails on college campus because only an estimated 35% of these victims’ abusers are dealt with. Of those, only an estimated 20 30% percent are dealt with severely. Colleges ignore the severity rape culture on campus because it is a problem that is extremely difficult to remedy, but ignoring a problem will not solve it. “Culture is vital to the human species, but some cultural patterns are destructive” (Herman 45). Rape culture occurs when a set of values or beliefs create an environment that is conducive to rape. Rape culture does not refer to an actual place or setting, but to a culture that directly and indirectly surrounds and supports rape. _Last Name_ 2 Our daughters are taught to be delicate, thoughtful, quiet and sweet. ...Growing up, I aspired to be a princess. I assumed, like most rational five year olds, that not only was being a princess an actual career path but that it was the only career path for a girl like me. I could wear beautiful gowns, prance around in tiaras and tell people what to do. What’s not to love? Sadly, that dream came to abrupt halt when my mom found it necessary to inform me that I was mistaken, that the odds of me becoming an actual princess were quite miniscule. Luckily, children are resilient and I recovered from this heartbreak quite quickly. Through growth and maturity, I soon set my sites on higher aspirations and announced that I would be one of the following: a doctor, a lawyer, a fashion designer or a hybrid of all three. To most, that list of possible career paths might seem all over the place with very little, if anything, in common. However, most people would be wrong. All three potential careers were positions of leadership, of being in charge, something that appeals to me as much today as it did when I was five years old, dreaming of being a princess. Working in retail was never part of my long-term career goals until I attended the University of Montevallo. In fact, the idea of working in retail past the age of twenty-two sounded almost painful. Working on weekends and on holidays? Who would subject themselves to such torture? Yet, at the age of twenty I found myself enrolling in Montevallo’s Retail Merchandising and Business program with a smile on face...

...with the sunshine beaming down and it finally just made so much sense to me, that I had been studying for the wrong degree all along. This is my second school I have been to, to work on achieving my Marketing degree, but even though I do love the crazy world of sales and advertising, it just wasn’t my passion anymore and maybe it never was at all. My hobby, the one thing that has always made me feel such an inner happiness that just bursts out like the sunshine that was bursting through the sky that day, is the lovely and fabulous world of wedding and event planning. Although, Front Range offers certificates for event management, that was not all that I wanted, I wanted more than that, but what degree would I now pursue for my new found but distant career choice? As I did a little research into a few degrees, I decided that I would put all of my energy and effort toward a degree in Hotel and Tourism Management with certifications in wedding and event planning. So now that I have that figured out, it was time to find the right school and the right path to get there. This was no easy task that I set out for myself as there are so many amazing schools to choose from just not here in Colorado. The first thought that ran through my mind was that all of my family is here and this is the only place I have ever lived. What would it be like to move to another state (if I chose to do so), not being around my family and friends (as I am a very family oriented person)? I became frightened...

...I play many roles. On most days, I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a student, and a veterinary assistant. When I was 12 years old I lost my father from a heart attack because he was misdiagnosed by a Navy doctor while he was still on Active Duty. When the Zika outbreak reached North America, I was nervous to travel for a destination wedding in Mexico because I was 14 weeks pregnant. As a new mother, I have felt the baby blues, the pressure of losing the pregnancy weight, and the disappointment of not being able to breastfeed my child until her first birthday. I was outraged when I found out that my infant daughter may have been exposed to chicken pox at daycare because a parent refused to vaccinate their child. As a student nurse, I have seen nurses and patients get frustrated because the patient to nurse ratio was too high. In class, I always chose to sit at the back of the room because I did not want to get sick whenever other students coughed or sneezed. As a veterinary assistant, I am often vexed by the pet owners who refuse treatment for their pets that need it. Sometimes I get anxious for my safety whenever I go to work. Besides having to restrain aggressive animals, I could recall the time when I almost fainted in the surgery suite because the anesthetic gas scavenging system was off. During our three-year...
