In this paper I am going to write about the movie “Despicable Me” Directors: Pierre Coffin, Chris Renaud Writers: Cinco Paul, Ken Daurio Stars: Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand. Specifically on the main character Gru. I will be discussing and exploring his change in personality, mainly his big heart. At the beginning of the movie Gru is portrayed as this evil scientist trying to become the best evil villain possible. He uses these three little girls, Agnes, Edith, and Margo to exhort his plan. They are three girls who are in foster care. He seen them selling cookies to vector, an evil villain, who let them in willingly to order his favorite cookies. He started to care for these girls he made them pancakes every morning. He loved them and it was a change because he was supposed to be a evil villain and evil villains are not supposed to show affection His assistant sends the girls away. Guru is deeply hurt and he feels this pain in his heart that he has never felt before and that feeling is sadness and love, his heart was broken. He was not used to that it was new to adjust to. Gru realizes that he doesn't just like these girls he loves them so after his mission he goes to get them and realizes they were kid napped by vector who in return wants the moon that Gru stole.
Gru ends up getting the girls back and apologizes for what happen and how he hurt them they forgive Gru. Gru realizes that he is still a evil villain but it is okay to love. Its okay to have an open heart. Aththe end of the movie his mother also accepts him and is very proud he got the girls back and i think it was a very significant part because all the times he wanted to do something evil his mom never approved but he wanted her approval. when guru finally does something with a bit of care his mom immediately winks at him assuring him she is happy with what he has done! He loves those girls with all his heart and they love him
