In the book “The Chrysalids” by John Wyndham, the inhabitants of Waknuk have a strong notion that change is bad. They have been raised to believe this way which make their views very strong. In my opinion, change is a good thing and should be accepted. It is part of evolution and is a way for us to become more intelligent and open minded. In the Chrysalids, change had already happened in the “Tribulation” (a nuclear holocaust) but the people rejected the idea that things are different now. The Tribulation changed the way of life for everyone but it also created different types of people. Gifted people.
If we live our whole lives the same boring way, sure, it might be safe and comforting but there is so much wasted potential. Potential that
