...1. (8) Draw an Activity Diagram with Swimlane based on the following scenario. You are asked to build a paper review system for an academic conference. You have come up with the following features for the system. 1. Process the receipt of a paper. This process records the detailed information of the submitted papers. It should also send out an acknowledgement to the author. 2. Assign Reviewers. This process suggests a possible list of reviewers for a submitted paper from a database of program committee (PC) members. The program chair then clicks on the names of three reviewers as the designated reviewers of the paper. The system then sends the assigned paper to reviewers. 3. Accept Papers. This process allows reviewers to submit their reviews. The program chair reads all reviews and decides which paper to accept. The status of a paper is updated as Accepted, and the corresponding author is informed of the acceptance. 4. Publish Conference Proceeding. This process formats and publishes the accepted papers in the electronic conference proceeding. [Note for ISGB 7905: Create DFD instead.] 2. She organized the first and second Pagsurat Bikolnon (Bikol Writers’ Conference). In the book Hagkus, Twentieth Century Bikol Women Writing (DLSU Press, 2003), author Paz Verdades Santos describes Jazmin Llana as a “…good candidate for the honor [of being balyana / babaylan of the new generation]”, like the priestess of long ago who was leader and healer, educator, and kulturtraeger or carrier of civilization. Jazmin Llana was born on October 27, 1963 in Baao, Camarines Sur. She now lives in Albay where she also works. She has served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences of the Aquinas University of Legazpi in Legazpi City. At present she is the Executive Assistant for External Affairs and Director of the Center for Culture and the Arts at the same university. MEMORIES Jazmin Llana I well remember these banks Where I would often stumble and fall In my pursuit of butterflies Or brightly colored birds. I would be covered with dirt while My quarry danced And flew away to light On the grass by the wayside, As if I saying: come on, don’t give up For truly, happiness is hard to catch. When I was a child, I thought We owned even the snails on the farm Which we would often cook with kangkong...

...Design, Development, and Testing of Flapping Fins with Actively Controlled Curvature for an Unmanned Underwater Vehicle John Palmisano1, Jason Geder2, Ravi Ramamurti2, Kerr-Jia Liu3, Jonah Cohen1, Tewodros Mengesha3, Jawad Naciri1, William Sandberg2, and Banahalli Ratna1 Center for Biomolecular Science and Engineering, Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC 2 Laboratory for Computational Physics and Fluid Dynamics, Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC 3 Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, George Washington University, Washington, DC 1 Summary. This paper describes the design, construction, and testing of a biomimetic pectoral (side) fin with actively controlled curvature for UUV propulsion. It also describes the development of a test UUV and the design of a fin control system for vertical plane motion. A 3D unsteady computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis has been carried out to computationally optimize the fin design including a full study of the primary design parameters. The fin has been constructed and it can reproduce any specified deformation time-history. The full dynamics of the proposed vehicle have been modeled and the forces produced by the flapping fins computed. Finally, the stability of motion in the vertical plane has been analyzed and a control system has been designed. Key words. Biomimetic pectoral fin, UUV, unsteady CFD, PID control, adaptive curvature 1 Introduction Unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) have proven very useful...

There have been many changes, additions, and improvements during this time. Adventurer Ministry has shown huge growth as well. Youngsters in this age group are full of energy and get excited about being a part of an organization that is designed to expand their view of their world and strengthen their relationship with God, Mom, and Dad through ways that are so much fun. The roof over Adventurer Ministry is supported by several strong pillars. You hold in your hands one of them: the latest updated manual covering all 83 currently accepted Awards for use around the world. There is of course, one small problem: This area of Adventurer fun is not a static field of possibilities, it is a constantly growing—maybe almost exploding—source of activity. Therefore even at the time of this edition’s printing, there are already more Awards being...

...recognizing feelings beyond the basic happy, sad and mad. The third book I would use is “Countdown to Kindergarten” by Alison Mcghee. This book would be wonderful all year but also in the fall when children can relate to counting down to starting Kindergarten. As with the previously mentioned books this book will also support intellectual growth in many ways. With this book you can work on counting and comparing, among other things. Common Core standards that these books could all support were comprehension, collaboration, presentation, knowledge and ideas. This is true for each and every one of the books I chose. I picked three pictures books that promote prosocial behavior. These were all written by Julia Cook. I recently attended a conference where I had the wonderful opportunity to hear her talk about her books and read a few aloud. This was a prime example that the voice...

...genetic gene giving Dash the power of super speed and Violet the power of invisibility and the power to generate force fields. The two of them were born in a society where using their superpowers is prohibited, they both handle this situation differently. Dash longs to be able to use his superpowers but is constantly shut down by his mother. He wants to be able to use his talents and exceed in sports and be the best he can be overall. “You always say, “Do your best!” But you don’t really mean it. Why can't I do the best I can do?” (Bird 20) His mom however, will not allow him to compete because of society’s view on supers and how that would affect their whole family and Dash’s need to compete is suppressed. Violet on the other hand, hates the fact that she has powers. She longs to be normal because to her, the powers she has been given just make her different from everyone else which makes her insecure and shy. “We ACT normal mom, I wanna BE normal!...” (Bird 27) The effects of Dash being suppressed in a similar way that his father is causes him to need some sort of outlet. He isn’t allowed to use his gift in a positive way, so instead he uses them in a negative way by misbehaving in class. He goes and takes every opportunity he can get to use his powers to get away with things that normal people could not. “(Dash’s teacher to Dash) I know it’s you! (To...

...Jaycee Carrigan Mr. Daugherty 3rd Period February 6, 2015 The Importance of Sex Education Imagine a girl and a boy are in a sexually active relationship. They both have the choice to be in a sex education class, but both of their parents say no. 3 months later, they take a visit to the doctor for a check-up and find out that she is pregnant, at the age of 15. She didn't know how to use any contraceptives, and that is something that she could have learned in the sex education class her parents refused to let her take. 3 in 10 teen American girls will get pregnant before the age of 20. That’s nearly 750,000 teen pregnancies every year (11 Facts About Teen Pregnancy). About 10 years ago, you would hardly find any teenagers pregnant. Now a days, there are teen pregnancies left and right. This could be prevented by implementing sexual education in schools and homes. Sex education is a broad term used to describe education about human sexual anatomy, sexual reproduction, sexual intercourse, and other aspects of human sexual behaviors (Science Daily). Human sexual anatomy is the basic parts of the body used during sex and the sexual hormones that are involved. Sexual reproduction is another word for having children. Sexual intercourse, well, you know what that is. Human sexual behaviors are what makes us want to have sex, and what urges us to do it. Also, you learn how to use different contraceptives, such as condoms and birth control. These could help prevent teen pregnancies...
