...Importance of Physician-Patient Communication By: Evan Peters HCA 301 Introduction to Healthcare Organizations Spring 2015 Jackson State University College of Public Service School of Health Sciences Department of Health Policy and Management Communication between a physician and patient is a popular subject matter in the Healthcare industry. A good, healthy relationship between physicians and patients is extremely important and extremely necessary. According to a consensus statement on physician and patient communication, “effective communication between doctor and patient is a central clinical function that cannot be delegated.” There is no evidence that communicating well with patients will make an enormous difference on any healthcare outcome. The purpose of this consensus is to evaluate the effects of various styles of communication on patient health and to identify the characteristics of excellent communication. These various studies reviewed were conducted in a numerous amount of clinical settings. Their different findings benefit physicians all over the world. For years, people generally thought that physician-patient communication was sufficient and was not a big deal. More recently, however, studies have proven this point to be extremely false. Numerous complaints arising from patients from breakdowns in physician-patient communication have been made to licensing bodies, and headlines declaring an “urgent need for MDs to relate better to patients”...

...known as naturally carbonated spring water with low contents of sodium. In the past, Perrier controlled about 24% of the total U.S bottled water business, and was dominating half of imported bottles water sector. The market sales of Perrier sparkling water from France rapidly grew in the United States from one million US Dollars to about eighty million per year. However, Perrier now accounts for eighty percent of declining water imports in America and 29 percent of the $225 million of sales yearly in the bottled-water market, which is growing at the rate of 9 percent annually. The American public is trading low in sales of mineral water that is substituted with club soda, according to a trade source. Perrier is challenged by Khisu Mineral Water, which has apparently cured the Korean King Sejong of all illnesses. Perrier’s considerable decline of its market share in the bottled water industry seems to be very challenging for its marketing team and raises some questions of how to survive on the market and regain the previous rhythm of sales. Maybe it’s time for them to consider some inevitable changes in the marketing strategy. Analysis Perrier has a lot of strengths compared to its competitors. It is naturally carbonated from France, unique in its qualities, difficult to copy. It has an internationally strong brand name. So it makes sense to keep the existing product available for the market and do not diversify. From the case study we know that before the product’s...

...Critical Analysis of Article Education and Urban Society, Vol. 35 No. 2 (February 3003) The Achievement Gap: Issues of Competition, Class, and Race Retrieved from http://eus.sagepub.com/content/35/2/151.full.pdf+html One of the key arguments in the Education and Urban Society, Vol. 35 No. 2 article is that closing the achievement gap between racial minorities and the racial majority does not merely require more competition and choice, but requires more objectives for educational attainment that are clearly defined, practices that are adequately implemented, and evaluations that are based on long-term effectiveness instead of short-term gains. An example given was the fact that public schools face critical challenges when defining equitable access and equality of opportunity for racial minorities in today’s standardized system of education. Due to the fact that Neither African Americans nor Hispanics have been able to receive adequate and equal opportunities to excel, their performance on standardize testing has paled in comparison to the rest of the population in the United States (Heubert & Hauser, 1999; Irvine, 1990; Jencks & Phillips, 1998; McNeil, 2000; Miller, 1995; Viadero, 2000). However, ironically enough, standardize testing is what is being used to measure the level of proficiency of students- even though these students are not being given sufficient tools to be able to learn the material given. Because of this many have scrutinized this system and have...

...Maquillez Glover Prof. Atkinson English 1101 7:00 28 October 2013 Textual Analysis No matter what car someone is driving, a seat belt is the most effective and safest thing to wear. According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in seven people do not buckle their seat belt when entering the car, and no matter how many times those people might get tickets or hear about fatal accidents and victims involved not wearing their seat belts, those people still refuse. Seat belts can help save lives; in 2009, 33,000 people died in a car accident and 2.2 million people were injured and half of those people were not wearing a seat belt (“Policy Impact…”). Also, seventy percent of those people involved in the wrecks were driving a passenger vehicle or truck (“Policy Impact…”). Even if someone is in the back seat of the biggest pick-up truck, they need to put on their seat belt, because any crazy accident can happen. Just like in any other car, a truck is likely to flip when involved in a wreck or losing control of the vehicle. In the ad posted by Kentucky State Police, buckling up in a truck is extremely important. The ad is implying that it does not matter how tough the truck looks, as long as the person is buckled up inside, the truck with be “tougher”. On the ad it states, seat belts reduced fatalities in trucks by eighty percent. To help show that the truck would be tougher, the bed of the truck and the cab are separated, and attached to the bed is a seat...

...The first univariate analysis was about sexual behavior. A major correlation was found between lifetime partners and the risk of anal cancer. Multiple women reported having 10 or more lifetime partners, their risk was approximately 5 times more than a women who had only one partner. Women who said they had sexual intercourse at or before the age of 16 were just at risk with the women who had sex at or after the age of 20. Nearly 1 in 10 women reported having anal intercourse at least once, this was most common amongst those women who had anal cancer. Women who had anal intercourse before the age of 30 were more at risk for anal cancer instead of those who had anal cancer after the age of 30 and this correlated tremendously with the amount of lifetime partners these...

...Study Based on Analysis of Existing Study Methodist College English 201 When writing compositions revision is an extremely important part of the process. Revision strategies can help by providing different approaches in terms of spelling and proofreading. Research has shown that people learn and absorb information differently. It is highly probable that when someone writes any type of composition they could benefit from using different revision strategies. In 2011, TEFLL Department, Faculty of Foreign Languages published a research study written by Professors Mojgan Rashtchi and Mojdeh Ghandi titled “Writing Revision Strategies: Do they Enhance Writing Ability”. The purpose of Professor Rashtchi and Professor Ghandi study was to investigate whether three types of revision strategies peer revision, self-revision enforced by checklist revision as compared to teacher revision have any significant impact on the writing ability of Iranian EFL (English as Foreign Language) learners. He builds his ethos as a moral and credible writer by demonstrating his scholarly credibility and expertise, as well as establishing his logos by presenting the audience with logical arguments and conclusions, and finally developing his pathos through the use of dramatic and emotional language in order to appeal to the audience’s emotions. Solove focuses on building ethos and creates an ethical appeal to...
