The Film Mardi Gras: Made in China follows the “Bead Trail” from Chinese factories to Bourbon Street New Orleans. The director David Redmon aims to elucidate the immense differences between the producer and consumer. He does this by juxtaposing the disparities among Chinese factory workers and those active in the New Orleans party scene. The Film takes foot with the Mardi Gras festivities where partygoers drink and celebrate in excess. The partygoers took great interest in colored plastic beads, some even unrobeing in order to amass more beads.
