What is loss? Loss is defined as the factor or process of losing something or someone. Loss comes in many different forms. Some examples from the short stories outlined in the following paragraphs are loss of possession, loss of a life, and the loss of what you thought you knew by learning the truth. Loss destroys peoples lives.
