...A Business Plan is description of what a business is or will be and how it will be run. Business Plans are used to either provide a guide for running an existing business or to solicit financial backing for a new business. It is important for you to determine which of these is your objective when writing a Business Plan. If your objective is to provide a guide for running an existing business, your goal is to project where the business is going. This type of plan allows a business not only to direct their course, but also to compare actual performance with the projected plan and make corrections as needed. This type of planning involves broad strategic planning (generally over a five year period), short term operational planning (usually for a one year period), budgeting (quarterly), and forecasting (monthly, quarterly, or yearly). Depending on the size of the business and the requirements of the assignment, your Business Plan may only include some of these areas, such as strategic and operational planning. If your objective is to secure funding for a new business, your goal is to describe the company's mission and strategic methods for attaining that mission. This includes aspects of planning discussed above such as strategic and operational planning. However, it is important for you to identify what type of financial backing you are seeking and who your audience will be because this affects the plan's emphasis. If your audience is a venture capital firm or other equity...

...The theme of this edition is hard to grasp. Fill in the word ‘trust’ in a search engine and different definitions keep popping up. Lots of academics have tried to come up with businesslike definitions, but it turns out to be very hard. Trust is a very personal and vulnerable concept, which takes a very important place in peoples’ lives. As of a very young age, trust is very important in everybody’s personal life. Later on, it starts to hit your professional life as well. Can you trust your colleagues or your suppliers? Once trust is broken, it is very hard to repair it. When everything is going as it supposed to go, there is no problem, but people will always fall back on previous trust issues, once something goes wrong. I therefore think the following quote from Friedrich Nietzsche is very striking: “I am not upset that you lied to me, I am upset that from now on I cannot believe you”. Next to issues which are the result of trust violence, there is the problem of gaining trust in the first place. There is always a certain degree of insecurity involved. Who is supposed to take the first step is the key difficulty. In any transaction the question arises, whether the delivery or the payment should take place first. It is in the nature of people to want to have a guarantee, which is often not possible. A large part of success is determined by a trustworthy treatment and you need to be able to rely on the people you do business with for the full hundred percent; especially when...

...detailed analysis of the environmental impact of a proposed federal action follows the environmental assessment (EA) as part of the NEPA process. These are many different grounds in which a plaintiff can challenge the adequacy of an agency’s EIS. One of the most common is “improper development of the project, including the lack of authority, inaccurate description, deceptive segmentation of the project, and lack of the planning process that incorporates environmental goals.” http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a325367.pdf Other common examples are inadequate discussion of alternatives, inadequate discussion of environmental impacts, inadequate efforts to develop. Legal challenges are unlikely to succeed if the agency has prepared an EIS in good faith but the above examples demonstrate moments when an EIS may be successfully challenged. 3. ...Ethics and Social Responsibility Robert Blad MGT/498 May 8th, 2014 Instructor Dial Ethics and Social Responsibility There are vast amounts of companies that have been accused of doing something that is deemed unethical or not follow a certain social responsibility. However, as people can we really expect a fortune 500 company to maintain itself with so many rules, regulations, and changing variables? The answer is yes; if they are willing to follow a strict strategic management scope that allows them to stand their ground and build a foundation that others are able to honor at the same time. Throughout, we will talk about ethics and social responsibility and how it ties to strategic management. The Strategic Plan A strategic plan is the formulation, plan, and implementation of something that is a foundation for most companies. Having a plan is ideal but being strategic in understanding what is available to you as a company and having that pin pointed acceptance of knowing which way your company is heading and how you are able to achieve these results. Ethics are the foundation of many things are tied together through what a company should be doing to ensure they have public trust, responsibility for their actions, along with being readily available to answer any and all questions that arise. Considering that it seems difficult for many companies to maintain an ethical way of doing things because of the large demand for certain products is the balance for most...

...Short Story Rough Draft The boys are standing outside the ship, when I arrive. There‘s Jack and Kyle and Justin, my flatmate. Jack spots me as I saunter down the street, towards them. "Look who it is", he says. "It’s the stranger". "Alright lads", I say, weaving through the crowd of massed drinkers on the pavement. "Have a good holiday?". What do you think?”. “Just what we expected”, laughs Jack. “I‘ll see you in a moment“. I walk into the pub and wait at the bar. It’s quite empty in here. There are posters for a band on the wall, who go by the name of The Tonics, a four piece in sharp suits with floppy haircuts, who I decide might be worth checking out later. In a few moments, I’m served, with an ice cold pint of Peroni, and am heading back out onto the street. RINGING IN MY EARS is the unmistakable sound of Hammond organ, which sends a shiver down my back and a buzz into my heart and tells me that the magic carpet ride has just begun. Jack turns, as I rejoin them. “Good time in Ibiza, was it?”, he asks. “Marvellous“. “It’s alright for some”, he says. “Jetting off somewhere hot. Well, you’re looking well on it, I have to say”. “Nice of you to say so”. “Bring me back a tan like that next time you go”. “I’ll see what I can do”. We laugh. It's warm tonight. For England. I stand and sip my lager and survey the scene. Girls are standing, alone and in groups, boys are leaning against the wall, gangs are hanging round, looking for something to take their attention...

...The Right Stuff Many careers require a special type of person to perform. Other careers require not just for a special person, but a person that can go above and beyond what are considered the normal standards just to not get left behind. This beyond special type of person is considered to have the right stuff. The right stuff is a difficult term to categorize. The right stuff can be physical or it can be mental or it can be anything in between. To be part of the elite some of the qualities of a person that has the right stuff are physical fitness, mental attitude and high ethics. There is no doubt however; to be part of the elite one must have the right stuff. In the military, especially in the special operation forces, physical fitness is not just something you can work up to. Physical fitness in the sense of physical talent is necessary. Having the ability to swim ten thousand meters is something which can be worked up to but being able to swim ten thousand meters while being timed is a different story. Physical fitness is important; being left behind is not an option. Being left behind in the arena of Special Forces can mean certain death to the individual that does not have the right stuff. Hand in hand with physical fitness is mental attitude. Without the proper mental attitude the proper level of physical fitness cannot be met. To be elite the individual most have the heart to run that extra mile, swimming that extra lap and lift that extra pound. Good mental attitude...

Without rich people, we wouldn’t have all the cool stuff that we have now. Income Inequality actually isn’t a bad thing. People become wealthy so they can buy the stuff that we will eventually be able to get later in our lives. Without rich people, we wouldn’t have all the stuff that we have now. If it wasn’t for innovators like John D Rockefeller, Steve Jobs, or Bill Gates, we would not have the stuff that we have now like cars or computers or iPads. “Income inequality in a capitalist system I truly beautiful because it provides the incentive for creative people to gamble on new ideas and it turns luxuries into common goods.” (Washington Post)....

...tell you. Moving to a new country can be fun and exciting adventure but it takes a lot of work and planning. Before you go and experience the new culture make sure you do research on the country. Another is to make sure you have the right paper work and documentation. The last step is to make sure you pack up essentials. It sounds like a lot and hard work but in the end it is all worth it. Doing research about the country you will live in is very important because you will be informed about the cultures and customs of the country. Also researching what cities are safe to live in and what cities are dangerous is good way of keeping yourself safe and out of trouble. Make sure to research living situations is it mostly apartment/condo living or is it houses? Knowing that information is good for when you are packing because you will know how much space you will have. A good way of research is finding a group on a social media website and asking them questions about the country and living situations. This step will be the most important step out of all three. Having the right paperwork and documentation is very important or you can get in serious trouble and or road blocks along the way. Making sure you know what you need is important. For example if you do not already have a passport make sure you apply for one right away because it can take a while to receive it. Next if you plan on working you must apply for a work visa in order to be able to get a job and work legally. Make...

If we had more of them we would be good and this would give player some motivation to play better and so they look nice when they play. Pepsi is doing well by supporting us and sponsoring us with our sports that we play. Well the kids that are in sports and Drama, and all the other activities in the school. I think that it’s good that we already have a sponsor because if it wasn’t for them we would not have been able to do all the traveling and spending money on things. The equipment that we have now is pretty good. We could use some better stuff like other school, but we won’t be able to do this because of money. If we had more sponsors then it would be a lot better because that would mean that we have more money coming and we could buy more equipment for our students (Player that are in sports). As an exchange Pepsi would like our school to use some of it sign and logo that Pepsi....

...The Story of Stuff: A Review The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute film aimed at raising awareness on the dangers of excessive human consumption. Presented by Annie Leonard – an activist for consumerism and environmental sustainability (Story Of Stuff Project, 2013) – this video provides a simple yet well researched explanation on the ‘behind-the-scenes’ management of the life-cycle of common items consumed daily in the United States. From mining and manufacturing to distribution, consumption and waste, this presentation takes viewers on a journey to explore many missing fragments that are hardly ever reported in the system (Leonard, 2009). Watched by over 12 million people worldwide, and translated into over 15 languages (Roosevelt, 2010), Leonard has received both applauds and criticisms for her unapologetic condemnation of humans (especially Americans) – for their excessive consumption and wasteful habits – and her rather conspicuous allegation of the devious relationship between the government and private corporations. One significant issue that Leonard (2009) presented in the video was that, due to human activity, natural resources around the world are rapidly diminishing. Natural resources such as minerals and trees are constantly mined and felled to satisfy men’s insatiable appetite for more goods. The presentation revealed that in the last decade, one-third of the world’s resource base has depleted. Furthermore, it is said that only four percent...

...Stuff I have too much stuff. Most people in America do. In fact, the poorer people are, the more stuff they seem to have. Hardly anyone is so poor that they can't afford a front yard full of old cars. It wasn't always this way. Stuff used to be rare and valuable. You can still see evidence of that if you look for it. For example, in my house in Cambridge, which was built in 1876, the bedrooms don't have closets. In those days people's stuff fit in a chest of drawers. Even as recently as a few decades ago there was a lot less stuff. When I look back at photos from the 1970s, I'm surprised how empty houses look. As a kid I had what I thought was a huge fleet of toy cars, but they'd be dwarfed by the number of toys my nephews have. All together my Matchboxes and Corgis took up about a third of the surface of my bed. In my nephews' rooms the bed is the only clear space. Stuff has gotten a lot cheaper, but our attitudes toward it haven't changed correspondingly. We overvalue stuff. That was a big problem for me when I had no money. I felt poor, and stuff seemed valuable, so almost instinctively I accumulated it. Friends would leave something behind when they moved, or I'd see something as I was walking down the street on trash night (beware of anything you find yourself describing as "perfectly good"), or I'd find something in almost new condition for a tenth its retail price at a garage sale. And pow, more stuff. In fact these free or nearly free things weren't bargains...

...life. Its mess up that’s teens go thru this in life. All they need is mentor, somebody that will talk to them about the bad stuff in life. . First, pregnancy is really bad in teenage life. A lot of them have babies in their teenage life. Most teenage mothers are single and receive no support from the father. They might end up having another baby and not thinking and make another mistake. Most of them don’t finish high school cause of all the work they have to do with the baby and it be stressing them out all the time. Then sometimes people don’t get help from the family and they get really mad. They should have had second thoughts before they did it. If they just wait until they get out of school and get a good job they will be ok having a child. Second, then you got drugs and alcohol. This is also bad for teens and have of them don’t know what they putting their self into when they do drugs and alcohol. Then when teenagers start smoking cigarettes then they will go to a store and buy some without showing proof of age. All stores should always ask for a id when somebody buy stuff like that because you don’t know who you selling them things to. Sometimes teenagers will have someone that’s older go in the store and have someone buy them some cigarettes. They see people on TV and music videos doing drugs and alcohol thinking it’s ok to do that type of stuff. Thirdly, a lot of teens are in gangs. They are out there killing people for no reason at all. Then they get locked...
