Upon Hester’s arrival at the Governor’s Hall to deliver the Governor’s gloves, she found herself asking if the rumors were true; the rumors of Pearl being taken from her. The townspeople as well the governor himself, suspect Pearl to be a devil child, and to be taken from Hester for Hester’s sake. They reason that if Pearl is really a human-child, she should be given a parent more fitting for raising her correctly. I believe that it is not up to someone who judges another based on previous actions, to decide what is best for them. Dimmesdale choses not to confide in the man, because he doesn’t trust him, he is suspicious of the doctor. Continuing their conversation about death, Dimmesdale comment on this dark plant that he spots in which Chillingworth suggests that it is the buried persons concealed sin. They begin to go into this awkward conversation about redemption, confession, and burying secrets. They’re conversation is delayed by the sound of Hester and Pearl in the graveyard, where Pearl is seen dancing and hooking burrs on the scarlet letter. She pulls her mom away saying the “Black man” has gotten the minister and he mustn’t get them as well. The two men comment on the young girl’s strange behavior and Chillingworth continues their conversation. He continues to pry the minister directly about his spiritual conditions, for he believes that it is relevant that to his physical health. I guess that you could say I have become obsessed with the idea of revenge as I continue to pull even harder on Dimmesdale’s heart and soul day by day. It seem as if I’m breaking him and my attempts are successful. As we continue our conversation Hester and Pearl's appear in the graveyard. Pearl. Such a strange child, with such .strange behavior. She seems to notice me looking and quickly pulls her mother away in fear. Watching Hester and Pearl remove themselves from the graveyard, Dimmesdale agrees with me that Hester’s sin is better to publicly displayed than concealed. Soon I resume my attempt to dismember Dimmesdale’s heart, mind, and soul, I tell him that I can never cure him as long as he continues to hide any and everything. In reply, he tell me that his sickness is a “sickness of the soul,” and cries out that he will not reveal his secret to "an earthly physician." Agitated and possibly annoyed, he rushes from the room. A chilling smile creeps onto my face. Success! Not long after, I find Dimmesdale peacefully asleep in a chair. Taking this opportunity, I pull aside the minister's vestment, he stare at his chest. Little did i know, I would be in for a terrifyingly,wonderful surprise, one that causes "a wild look of wonder, joy, and horror." One that cause me to spontaneously break into dance of pure
