Evaluation: When looking at these controversies I believe that you have to weigh the pros and the cons individually of these books. In this case I believe that the book The Perks of Being a
Wallflower should not have been banned in this community. My main reasoning has to do with the fact that one of the teachers in opposition with the ban said that regardless of what obscene things you don’t want your child to know, in this day and age of social media and mass communication it is impossible for them to not have some knowledge about it that topic. I also believe that this book is beneficial to many students in relating to the content and to deprive the masses over one person’s discomfort is completely and utterly selfish.
